Turkey is at a crossroads that brings together the world's raw material resources and economic centers. This means that the transit transportation between Asia and Europe is carried out through our country's transportation networks with a sustainable, uninterrupted and increasing capacity.

WE ARE GOING TO BE A GLOBAL LOGISTICS SUPERPOWER

The importance of Turkey's role in international trade, located in the Middle Corridor of the Silk Road, is undeniable. Being aware of this importance, we always keep the integration of transportation networks in Europe at high standards among our priorities. Our country, which is on its way to become a global logistics superpower, is taking on important responsibilities by transforming into a valuable and lucrative logistics and production base in the Middle Corridor, beyond being an alternative between Asia and Europe. It is a concrete indication that we are approaching the Iron Silk Road as a strategic issue, which made the first international freight transportation expedition on 28 May 2020, using the Marmaray and Baku-Tbilisi-Kars Railway lines, which we successfully completed and put into service.

Karaismailoğlu stated that the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure has successfully implemented the Ankara-Istanbul Line Köseköy-Gebze Section, Irmak-Karabük-Zonguldak Railway Line, Samsun-Kalın Railway Line Projects with the European Union. In addition, our 2053 Vision is not only an investment program; Considering the developing trends in the world, we have determined mobility, logistics and digitalization as our main focus areas. Our holistic development-oriented vision, which strengthens our country's bond with the world, has many common denominators with the basic approaches of the European Union such as the European Green Agreement, the Paris Climate Agreement and the European Climate Law. In this direction, we aimed to increase the share of the railway in our investments to 2023 percent in 60, and to increase the share of the railway in freight transportation from 2053 percent to 5 percent in 22. Thus, we will make a great contribution to the European Union's goal of becoming a carbon neutral continent by 2050 in the fight against climate change within the framework of the Green Deal. Like all of our investments, this work is also in every process from the design phase to the commissioning; It is managed with an environmentally sensitive approach.
