The name of Gendarmerie Lieutenant Güngör Dolunay, who was martyred in 2019, was given to the pedestrian overpass in Konak by the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality. Seeing her son's name on the overpass, mother Zehra Dolunay could not hold back her tears.
The request of the martyr's mother, Zehra Dolunay, was fulfilled within the scope of the works of the Department of Martyrs' Relatives and Veterans, Department of Social Services of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality. The name of Martyr Gendarmerie Lieutenant Güngör Dolunay was given to the pedestrian overpass between Bahri Baba Bus Stop and YKM in Konak. Mother Zehra Dolunay, who saw her son's name on the overpass, could not control her tears. Anne Dolunay, Izmir Metropolitan Municipality officials and the President Tunç SoyerHe thanked him for keeping his son's name alive.
Güngör Dolunay was injured in the clash that broke out in Hakkari on 28 June 2019 and was martyred in the hospital he was taken to.
