Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu made a statement after his examination at the Filyos-Çatalağzı Road construction site in Zonguldak.

Stating that the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure continues to invest in Turkey's east-west, north-south with all its might, Karaismailoğlu said, “Thanks to the land, air, rail, sea and communication moves we started in 2003; We have made our country, which is on the verge of the 100th anniversary of our Republic, a leader in its region in transportation and communication, and an important crossroads in the world. Today, we examine the works on the Filyos-Çatalağzı Road, which is an important part of the Zonguldak-Amasra-Kurucaşile-Cide Highway, which will contribute to transportation, trade and social mobility by making road transportation much safer, faster and more comfortable at the divided road standard.” said.

Noting that large investments have been made in Zonguldak in the last 2 years, Karaismailoğlu said, “We examined the construction sites of the Zonguldak-Mithatpaşa Tunnels. We landed at Çaycuma Airport, which was renovated and the runway was enlarged; We saw the results of the work on site. We opened Filyos Port, the project of the century, on June 4, 2021, with the presence of our President. In January, Zonguldak-Kilimli Road and Prof. Dr. We put the Şaban Teoman Duralı Tunnels into service.”

Stating that more than 1 trillion 600 billion liras were invested in transportation and communication investments during the AK Party governments, Karaismailoğlu noted that highway projects accounted for the largest share of 61 percent of these investments. Emphasizing that they have increased the divided road length by 4,5 times to 28 kilometers with the highway investments throughout the country, and that they have reached 664 thousand 2 kilometers by doubling the highway length, Karaismailoğlu stated that the length of the tunnels has been increased by 3 times and exceeded 633 kilometers. “We also increased our bridges and viaducts by 13 times. We cross the steep rocks and deep valleys of our country with tunnels and viaducts. We are only concerned with our nation, we are after providing the best service to it," said Karaismailoğlu, and pointed out that the AK Party has been producing projects for 650 years for Turkey's development, job creation, and economic growth, and has been making a work policy.

Underlining that the projects developed with the mind of the state are put into the service of the nation, Karaismailoğlu continued his speech as follows;

With our road investments throughout the country; With the uninterrupted traffic flow that improves the operational performance of our roads, we have saved 10,5 billion hours of travel time annually. Thanks to road safety and shortening of travel time; We saved a total of 17 billion 238 million dollars annually, 908 billion 636 million dollars from time, 16 million dollars from fuel oil, 22 million dollars from maintenance and 408 million dollars from environmental effects. In addition to all these, we reduced our emissions by 5,5 million tons. In the last 20 years, in our country, while the number of vehicles increased by 170 percent and vehicle mobility by 142 percent, our casualties in accidents decreased by 81 percent, thanks to the on-site investments we made and the roads we put into service.”

WE INVESTED OVER 13.6 BILLION TL IN TRANSPORTATION AND COMMUNICATIONS IN ZONGULDAK

Pointing out that Zonguldak, the 'black diamond' of the Western Black Sea Region, has received and will continue to receive its rightful share from the transportation and communication investments throughout the country, Karaismailoğlu said, “The amount of transportation and communication investments we have made in Zonguldak province in the last 20 years is 13 billion 695 million. over the lira. We allocated 9 billion 870 million liras for highway investments in Zonguldak. In the last 20 years in Zonguldak; We increased our highway investment expenditures by 21 times, the length of bituminous hot asphalt roads by 12 times and the length of divided roads by 8 times. We connected Zonguldak to Bartın, Bolu and Düzce by divided roads. We have put 14 tunnels, 5 single-tube and 13 double-tube, with a total length of more than 100 thousand 19 meters, into the service of our people throughout the province. In addition, we have completed 5 bridges with a total length of approximately 700 meters. On January 64, 22, we opened the 2022 kilometer Zonguldak-Kilimli Road. Located on this road line, Prof. Dr. The total length of the Teoman Duralı Tunnels is 6,5 meters. With the project, we shortened the route between Zonguldak and Kilimli districts by 883 kilometers. Travel time reduced from 4,5 minutes to 30 minutes. In addition, the length of our Kilimli-Çatalağzı road, which is also on the Zonguldak-Amasra-Kurucaşile-Cide Road, is 5 kilometers. Moreover; We opened 5,3 kilometers of the Çaycuma-Bartın Junction-Filyos-Kilimli-Zonguldak Road, with a total length of 34,3 km, to traffic as a bituminous hot-paved divided road. Work continues within the scope of 6,5 separate tenders for the remaining 27,8 kilometers.

Noting that Filyos-Çatalağzı Road is an important part of the Zonguldak-Amasya-Kurucaşile-Cide road project, Minister of Transport Karaismailoğlu said that Zonguldak - Amasra - Kurucaşile - Cide Road, which provides transportation in the region in the east-west direction, is also one of the international transportation axes of the Black Sea Coastal Road. He said that it also constitutes an important part of Karaismailoğlu said, “The road project includes densely populated settlements, industrial facilities and Filyos Free Zone on the coastline where the Hisarönü, Saltukova districts and towns of Zonguldak are connected,” Karaismailoğlu said. For this reason, it is important to provide safe and fast transportation. Our highway project is an important investment for Turkey's future. It will relieve traffic, shorten the distance, thus providing economic benefits. We aim to put our project into service in 2024. The length of our Filyos-Çatalağzı road is 13,8 kilometers. Within the scope of the bituminous hot coated divided road; Construction works of 7 double tube tunnels, 2 cut-and-cover tunnels, 2 single bridges and 2 different-level intersections are taking place.

It will take its place among the top 10 economies with the direct, indirect and triggering economic effects provided by the infrastructure.”
