İzmir Cinema Office is organizing the first film project development camp. The application deadline for the camp, which will be held on 19-23 July, is 1 July.

The director, screenwriter and producer of 19 feature film projects that were entitled to participate in the camp on 23-5 July will receive an intensive five-day project development training. The training, accommodation and food and beverage expenses of the participants in the camp at the K2 Urla Breathing Space, which is designed as an art center intertwined with nature, will be covered by the İzmir First Film Project Development Camp organization. Filmmaker candidates will meet with successful professional filmmakers in the sector during the training program to be organized within the scope of Izmir Cinema Office studies. The aim of the camp is to make the filmmaker candidates ready to present their film projects to international film markets and potential co-producers.

Filmmaker candidates will meet with the industry

The trainings will be given by the expert training staff led by producer Müge Özen and director and screenwriter Ali Vatansever. Leading names of the cinema industry will also attend the camp to share their experiences with the participants and to have conversations about their fields:

  • Director and Screenwriter Cagil Bocut – Making His First Film
  • Producer and Distributor Ersan Çongar – Distribution and Sales
  • Producer Armagan Lale – Making Her First Film
  • Director and Screenwriter Tunç Şahin, Actress Nezaket Erden – Actress Director Relationship
  • Festival Director Azize Tan – Festival Journey of Films
  • Producer Emine Yıldırım – Budgeting and Financing

Müge Özen, Bengi Semerci and Ali Vatansever, as well as the administrators responsible for the İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Cinema İzmir project, will take part in the selection committee that will examine the project files. The link between the applicants and their projects with İzmir will be an important criterion in the evaluations.
