Torbalı Municipality has planted wheat in its fields in various neighborhoods this year as well. Wheat seeds, which met the soil in November and December, started to be harvested after they sprouted and gave height. Torbalı Municipality, which sowed wheat on an area of ​​approximately 7 decares in 100 neighborhoods, is targeting approximately 600 tons of wheat from here. Wheat, some of which will be flour, will be distributed free of charge to the needy in the district with the slogan 'From the people's field to the people's table'. Flour, which will be distributed equally to those in need, will be one of the best examples of social municipality. On the other hand, wheat and straw not reserved for flour will be sold and used as a resource for the municipality. Torbalı Municipality, which continues to keep the seeds of ancestry alive, planted karakılçık wheat in some of the fields.

The lands that were cultivated and maintained under the control of Torbalı Municipality were sprayed and fertilized by drone due to the adverse weather conditions. Some of the wheat that has started to be harvested will be distributed as flour to those in need in the district, especially in the neighborhoods where planting processes take place. Torbalı Mayor Mithat Tekin, who made inspections in the fields where wheat is harvested, said, “The harvest of our Karakılçık and other types of wheat, which we planted in Torbalı, our beautiful town with fertile soils where crops can be obtained three times a year, has begun. We will continue to pass on these seeds, which are heirlooms, to future generations, and we will continue to stand by the production and producers. This year, we planted wheat on an area of ​​1100 decares on this road that we set out with the slogan 'From the people's field to the people's table'. The fields that have started to be harvested give us the good news of a good harvest. Some of the wheat we harvest will reach the table of the people as flour. Last year, we distributed 70 tons of flour. Our goal is to increase this amount even more this year," he said.
