2022 Wheat and Barley Purchase Prices Announced

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan spoke at the closing of the AK Party's 30th Consultation and Evaluation Meeting. President Erdoğan, who said: "Support is from us, effort is from you, blessings are from Allah"; announced Wheat and Barley purchase prices for our farmers.

Erdogan; “Our Soil Products Office will pay a total of 6 thousand 50 liras for hard bread wheat this year, 1000 thousand 7 liras for purchase and 50 liras for Ministry premium.
The purchase price of barley has been determined as 5 liras in total, with 500 thousand 500 liras per ton and 6000 liras of the Ministry's premiums.

Stating that agricultural activities are a strategic sector in terms of both the main livelihood of the farmers and the guarantee of the future of 85 million people with confidence, Erdoğan said that the uncertainty caused by the war between the world's most important grain suppliers, Russia and Ukraine, is very worried about countries that are not particularly self-sufficient in agriculture. he said he did.

“FLOWING THE PRICES OF GRAIN, VEGETABLES AND FRUIT ARE NOT DUE TO LACK OF PRODUCTION”

Expressing that Turkey is a country that produces enough to be self-sufficient and even sells abroad, Erdogan said that they saw and experienced this fact all together, not lacking in any food product during the epidemic period, and continued as follows:

“The fluctuations in grain, vegetable and fruit prices are not due to the lack of production, but partly due to the increase in costs, partly to the opportunism of some market actors. In this regard, we will soon implement the new regulations that we are about to complete our preparations for. Of course, whatever the truth is, the opposition and the mandate economists do not hesitate to repeat the clamor of 'We are importing wheat'. The reason for the high import figures in various raw material items, especially wheat, is not our own inadequacy, but that our country is one of the world's largest food exporters. In other words, we import wheat not for our own needs, but to process it and sell it as a product to the whole world. We should take care to share with the public information at every opportunity that will ease the work of those who cannot see this simple truth, and those who have delusions and minds. If you remember, we have advised our farmers to plant without leaving even an inch of land empty, pointing to the negative developments in the world. Thank God, as we enter the new harvest period, we receive news from our production areas that the crop is fertile.”

BREAD WHEAT 7 THOUSAND 50 TL PER TONS

Erdoğan spoke as follows regarding the wheat and barley purchase prices and incentive figures to be made by the Turkish Grain Board in the 2022 harvest period:

“While determining these prices, we also took into account the issues of providing the stocks we need for security of supply, as well as the domestic and foreign market developments, as well as the fact that our farmers continue production with a return on money. Our Soil Products Office will pay a total of 6 thousand 50 liras for hard bread wheat this year, 1000 thousand 7 liras for purchase and 50 liras for premium. Best wishes. The barley purchase price of our office has been determined as 5 thousand liras in total, with 500 thousand 500 lira purchase and 6 lira premium price per ton.

Our producers registered in the farmer registration system, who give their products to our Turkish Grain Board, will be able to benefit from the premium payment. Purchasing figures of the Turkish Grain Board will also be a reference for other public institutions and organizations, and different price practices will not be applied. Our producers will continue to receive support for diesel, fertilizer, certified seeds and difference payment, which will be paid by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, in addition to the Grain Purchase Premium.
