16 Arrests in 'Mucilage' Operation in 97 Cities

Within the scope of the fight against organized crime organizations by the EGM Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime Department; On 21.05.2021, Beach Wind in 8 provinces, including our coastline provinces and other touristic cities, where local and foreign tourists showed great interest before the tourism season, Simultaneously Coast Wind-05.10.2021 in 9 provinces on 2 and TIRPAN code-named in 24.12.2021 provinces on 30. Simultaneous planned operations were carried out throughout the country.

Within the scope of the studies carried out in the ongoing process; against mafia-type organized crime groups that try to show themselves superior to the powers of the state by using the methods of pressure, force, threat and violence on our citizens on the coastline of our country and adversely affect our country's tourism, and criminal groups that supply weapons to these organizations; In line with the instructions of the Authorized Provincial Chief Public Prosecutor's Offices and under the coordination of the KOM Department; In 16 provinces, including Adana, Antalya, Aydın, Balıkesir, Bursa, Çanakkale, İstanbul, İzmir, Mersin, Muğla, Yalova, Artvin, Giresun, Ordu, Samsun and Zonguldak, 'Establishing an Organization to Commit a Crime, Looting, Extortion, Threats within the Scope of the Organization's Activities. On 6136, simultaneous planned operations, code named MÜSİLAJ, were carried out against individuals who were found to be posing a threat to public security and peace by committing their crimes and the crime of Opposition to the Law No. 26.05.2022 by supplying weapons to the said organizations.

In the calls made within the scope of the operations; 175 pistols, 41 rifles, 2630 cartridges, 30 knives, 4 brass knuckles, 12 machetes, 3 swords, 1 handcuffs, 1 precision scale, many weapon parts, a large amount of synthetic pills, synthetic pharmaceuticals, cannabis, methamphetamine, 1.605.000 TL, 10.000 Euros and many checks and promissory notes were seized.

As a result of these operations; 288 of the 97 suspects who were caught, detained and referred to the judicial authorities were arrested, 66 were released with a judicial control decision and 125 were released without any precautionary measures. Efforts to apprehend 27 fugitive suspects continue.
