1000 companies from the Aegean Region took place in the top 159 exporters list, defined as the champions league of exporters, announced by the Turkish Exporters Assembly.
While the Aegean Region was the second region with the highest number of companies to the champions league list, İzmir maintained its second place after Istanbul in the top 82 exporters list with 1000 companies.
While Denizli is on the list with 29 companies, 23 exporting companies from Manisa are represented in the champions league. 6 companies from Aydın, 5 companies each from Balıkesir, Kütahya and Muğla, and 2 companies from Uşak; 1000 companies are in the top XNUMX list.
While 20 companies from the Aegean Region managed to enter the top 2021 exporters list in 1000, 139 companies managed to stay on the list.
Export champions have not changed
Looking at the export champions on the basis of provinces, it is noteworthy that the export champions in 2020 maintained their top position in 2021 as well.

While the export champion of Kütahya was a firm that did not participate in the research, the second largest exporter from Kütahya was VİG METAL SANAYİ VE TİCARET A. Ş. It showed a performance of 70 million dollars.
BALTA ORIENT TEKSTİL SAN.VE TİC.A.Ş., which has been representing Uşak in the top 1000 exporters list for many years. While being the export champion of Uşak in 2021, it increased its exports from 35 million dollars to over 55,7 million dollars with an increase of 75 percent.
TÜRKİYE PETROL RAFİNERİLERİ A.Ş., whose production facilities are not located in the Aegean Region, became the third largest exporter company in Turkey and became the champion of Turkey in the chemical industry.

VERDE YAĞ NUTRITIONAL INDUSTRY AND TRADE ANONİM ŞİRKETİ, which entered the list of the first 2021 exporters in 1000, became another İzmir company that became the export champion in the olive and olive oil sector.
Eskinazi: “We maintain our strong position in the list”
Sharing the knowledge that the Aegean Region has demonstrated an export performance exceeding $2021 billion in 28, Aegean Exporters' Associations Coordinator President Jak Eskinazi underlined that they maintain their strong position as the Aegean Region in the top 1000 exporters list.
Pointing out that there is a wealth of sectoral diversity in the Aegean Region, Eskinazi said, “Export champions in the sectors of Chemistry, Electric-Electronics, Steel, Air Conditioning, Fisheries and Animal Products, Tobacco, Fresh Fruits and Vegetables and Olives and Olive Oil are producing in the Aegean Region. As a city that has taught export to Turkey, we aim to increase our number in the top 1000 exporters list by concentrating on Sustainability, Innovation, R&D, Design, Digitalization and Vocational Education.”
