A Student Achievement Monitoring Survey will be conducted by the Ministry of National Education in order to determine and monitor the level of acquisition of the achievements in the curriculum by adopting the process-oriented evaluation approach in education. The research will be carried out across the country in 17 provinces on May 81.

The Ministry of National Education will carry out a Student Achievement Monitoring Research in order to determine and monitor the level of acquisition of the achievements in the curriculum by adopting the process-oriented evaluation approach in education. The research is important in terms of identifying possible learning losses of students during the epidemic and providing the necessary support.

The monitoring research to be carried out in 17 provinces across the country on May 81, will show the achievements in Turkish, mathematics and science courses at the 4th and 7th grade levels; At the 10th grade level, it will measure the achievements in the fields of Turkish language and literature, mathematics, physics, chemistry and biology.

In his statement on the subject, Minister of National Education Mahmut Özer stated that as the Ministry, all opportunities were used to ensure the continuity of face-to-face education in schools this academic year and they are very pleased with the point reached. Stating that necessary measures will continue to be taken to compensate for possible learning losses during the epidemic period, Özer said: “As a country, we participate in international research such as TIMSS, PISA, PIRLS. Recently, we have achieved remarkable success as a country in these researches. These studies allow us to review our education system. Thus, areas that are open to improvement are seen and strong measures are taken.”

Noting that they attach great importance to national monitoring and evaluation studies as well as international research, Mahmut Özer said, “The Student Achievement Monitoring Research, which will be applied to approximately 50 thousand students, will provide the opportunity to see the current situation and will make significant contributions in effectively improving the quality of the education process and especially in making up for students. ” made its assessment.

Coordination will be provided by measurement and evaluation centers.

Minister Özer stated that the booklets and other application documents to be used in the Student Achievement Monitoring Research, prepared by the General Directorate of Assessment and Examination Services in accordance with the assessment and evaluation principles, will be printed at the assessment and evaluation centers in the provinces, and said that the process will be carried out by these centers in the provinces.

Reports will be sent to students

Minister Özer noted that the report cards containing the achievement levels of the sub-learning areas within each area of ​​assessment will be sent to the students through the Student Assessment Center Joint Platform, so that the students' deficiencies will be seen and the necessary support activities will be carried out through the schools.
