Karaismailoğlu: 'Yıldız Technical University Campus will be a 5G Test Area'

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu announced that they will install 5G at Yıldız Technical University Campus and said, “From now on, Yıldız Technical University Campus will be a 5G test area. We will work together with our university in this field," he said.

Transport Minister Karaismailoğlu said that the advantages of Turkey's geographical location should be known. That's why the rising Europe-Asia-Africa trade triangle, in which our country is located, creates the greatest global opportunities for us and these will continue to increase. When we look at the increase figures in global trade, the picture that emerges once again reveals how well-directed steps have been taken against Turkey's needs in the field of transportation and communication. In 2020, the trade volume all over the world is 12 billion tons. It is expected to reach 2030 billion tons in 25, 2050 billion tons in 95, and 2100 billion tons in 150. All preparations are made on it. When we combine the figures in the global trade increase with the regions where the global population growth is expected the most, it becomes clear how appropriate Turkey's claim of “being a global logistics superpower in the Middle Corridor” is. Transport Minister Karaismailoğlu stated that thanks to the investments, an annual contribution of 17 billion dollars is made to the economy and 1 billion liters of fuel are saved.

Referring to the 2053 Transport and Logistics Master Plan, Karaismailoğlu said that all of them are certain which investments they will make until 2053. Underlining that they will return to an investment environment focused on railways and communication, Karaismailoğlu said that infrastructure investments in highway and airline have been completed to a large extent. Karaismailoğlu, who stated that they are doing important works to weave railway networks all over Turkey, said that especially the high-speed train lines connected to 8 provinces will be removed with exactly 52. “We carry passengers on these high-speed train lines, but there will be freight lines beyond. Karaismailoğlu said, “We have started very long-term and very costly projects in order to be prepared for the development of exports, increase in production and reduction of carbon emissions,” Karaismailoğlu said, adding that the railway line will increase to 28 thousand 590 kilometers according to the planning in the coming years.

Announcing that the number of airports will increase from 57 to 61 and that Çukurova Airport will be put into service at the end of the year, Karaismailoğlu said that by 2053, they will have completed a transportation infrastructure investment of 198 billion dollars. Karaismailoğlu said, "With this investment, we will contribute 2 trillion dollars to production and 1 trillion dollars to national income."

Touching on the Build-Operate-Transfer Projects, Minister of Transport Karaismailoğlu said that while the 2,5 billion euro Çanakkale Bridge was being built, smaller budget projects such as the Kömürhan Bridge were completed and brought to Turkey. Karaismailoğlu stated that works are done very quickly by producing different finance models, and noted that engineers and engineering projects develop while the projects are being carried out.

Drawing attention to the work in space, aviation and communication, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu reminded that Türksat 2021A and Türksat 5B satellites were launched into space in 5. We will be able to reach one third of the world, especially in areas where we cannot reach terrestrial communications.
