DHMI Announces Airline Aircraft, Passenger and Freight Statistics for April

The Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of the Republic of Turkey, General Directorate of State Airports Authority (DHMİ), announced the airline plane, passenger and freight statistics for April 2022.

Accordingly, in April, the number of aircraft landing and taking off at our environmentally and passenger-friendly airports reached 61.230 in domestic flights and 47.304 in international flights, with a total of 139.445 aircraft traffic including overpasses. Compared to the same month of 2022, the air traffic served in April 2021 increased by 26,2% in domestic air traffic, by 89,5% in international air traffic and by 54% in total air traffic. In addition, 2019% of the air traffic in April 90 has been reached.

During the coronavirus (COVID-19) epidemic, the passenger traffic, which greatly decreased worldwide and in our country, approached its previous level in April 2022 compared to the same period of 2019. Thus, our airports reached 2022% of 2019 passenger traffic in April 73 in terms of total passenger traffic.

In this month, domestic passenger traffic was 5.389.967 and international passenger traffic was 6.196.846 at the airports serving throughout Turkey. Thus, a total of 11.616.346 passengers were served in the month in question, including direct transit passengers. Compared to the same month of 2022, the passenger traffic served in April 2021 increased by 45,2% in domestic passenger traffic and by 152,1% in international passenger traffic, while total passenger traffic increased by 88,1%.

Airport freight (cargo, mail and baggage) traffic; In April, it was 52.876 tons in domestic flights, 246.953 tons in international lines, a total of 299.829 tons. Compared to the same month of 2022, the freight traffic served in April 2021 increased by 30,5% in domestic freight traffic, 28,5% in international freight traffic and 28,8% in total freight traffic. In addition, in April 2022, 2019 freight traffic has passed.

4.452.141 PASSENGERS WERE SERVED AT ISTANBUL AIRPORT IN APRIL

The number of aircraft that landed and took off from Istanbul Airport in April reached 7.904 in total, with 23.970 on domestic lines and 31.874 on international lines.

This airport served a total of 1.075.345 passengers, 3.376.796 on domestic flights and 4.452.141 on international flights in April.

At Istanbul Atatürk Airport, where general aviation activities continue, there was 2.138 aircraft traffic in April. Thus, a total of 34.012 aircraft traffic took place at these two airports.

THE NUMBER OF PASSENGERS TRAVELING BY AIR IN FOUR MONTHS EXCEEDED 41 MILLION

In the four-month (January-April) period; Aircraft traffic landing and taking off at airports was 217.143 on domestic lines and 152.676 on international lines. Thus, a total of 477.831 aircraft traffic took place with the overpasses.

Air traffic served at the end of April 2022, when compared to the same period of 2021, is 17,1% in domestic passenger traffic; increased by 81,3% in international passenger traffic and by 45,2% in total passenger traffic.

Domestic passenger traffic in airports across Turkey of 21.343.503 of the 19.809.479 international passengers traffic in this period were given a total of 41.250.184 passengers with direct transit passengers.

The passenger traffic served at the end of April 2022, when compared to the same period of 2021, is 38,9% in domestic passenger traffic; increased by 133,8% in international passenger traffic and 72,9% in total passenger traffic.

During the period in question, the freight (cargo, post and baggage) traffic of the airports; 210.141 tons in domestic lines and 840.274 tons in international lines.

A total of 28.889 aircraft, 84.861 on domestic flights and 113.750 on international lines, in a four-month period at Istanbul Airport; A total of 3.998.848 passenger traffic was realized, of which 11.867.523 on domestic lines and 15.866.371 on international lines. This number was 8.750 aircraft traffic at Istanbul Atatürk Airport. A total of 122.500 aircraft traffic took place at the two airports in the same period.
