National racing driver Cem Bölükbaşı competed in the fifth leg of the Formula 2 World Championship in Monaco. Bölükbaşı showed the best performance of his Formula 12 career by finishing 11th in the sprint race and 2th in the main race.
Turkey's first Formula 2 racing driver, Cem Bölükbaşı, drew attention with his successful races at the legendary street track of the racing world, Monaco, in the fifth leg of the 2022 FIA Formula 2 World Championship.
Bölükbaşı started the sprint race held on Saturday, May 28 at the Monte Carlo track in the 18th place and finished in the 12th place. The national racing driver started the main race on 29 May from the 20th row and, with successful passes, he went up 9th place, finishing the race in the 11th place and approached the first race point. Bölükbaşı had risen to the 10th place during the race.
“I made one of my dreams come true”
Cem Bölükbaşı said, “I made one of my dreams come true by going on the legendary Monaco circuit. Monte Carlo is a track that doesn't have many crossing opportunities, but even though we started from behind on both Saturday and Sunday, we got to the front with successful transitions at the start. I came very close to scoring my first point in the main race. This is my 2rd race in Formula 3. Even though I missed 2 races due to injury and bad luck, I am getting used to my car more and more every day. We are returning from Monaco with a good success, we still have more races ahead. "I try to do better in every new race," he said.

The sixth leg of Formula 2 will take place in Baku on the weekend of 10-12 June. All races of Cem Bölükbaşı in the Formula 2 season can be followed live on S Sport, Sport 2 and S Sport + channels.
FIA Formula 2 Championship race schedule
Starting March 18-20 at the Bahrain International Circuit, the F2 2022 Championship will run for 14 weeks, respectively Jeddah, Imola, Barcelona, Monte-Carlo, Baku, Silverstone, Spielberg, Le Castellet, Budapest, Spa-Francorchamps, Zandvoort, Monza and Yas. It will continue with the races that will take place on the marina tracks. The championship, which has the same calendar as Formula 1, will end with the final on the Yas Marina track on 18-20 November 2022.
