The first climbing race of the 2022 season, sponsored by ICRYPEX, was held in Buharkent, Aydın, on 4-28 May 14 with the participation of 15 athletes in 2022 different categories. Organized by the Aegean Automobile Sports Club (EOSK) with the support of Buharkent Municipality, the 2022st leg race of the AVIS 1 Turkey Climbing Championship started with the start ceremony held on Saturday, May 14, in Buharkent Square.
At the end of the race, which was run as two starts on the 15 kilometer long track on Sunday, May 7,59, Bahadır Sevinç won the first place in Category 1 with Ford Fiesta R1, while Fiat Palio and Sevcan Sağıroğlu came second and Ford Ka and Özgür Şenyüz came in third. . In Category 2, Fiat Palio and Ülkü Motorsport team's Kaan Kara was the fastest name on the day, while Yiğit Sercan Yalçın took the second place with the Citroen C2 R2 and Çiğdem Tümerkan took the third place with the Citroen Saxo VTS. In Category 3, Opel Corsa OPC and Ahmet Keskin for Neo Motorsport took the first place, Murat Soyçopur, who competed with Renault Clio R3 for GP Garage My Team, came second and Renault Sport Clio and Nizamettin Kaynak came third. In Category 4, with Mitsubishi Lancer EVO IX, Selim Bacıoğlu from GP Garage My Team started the season with a victory, and also recorded the best time of the day. In this category, Mitsubishi Lancer EVO IX and Sinan Soylu from the same team finished the day in second place, while Ümit Ülkü from Ülkü Motorsport took the third place with his MINI JCW.
In the local classification, Bahadır Sevinç in Category 1, Serdar Sarıduman in Category 2, Hüseyin Yıldırım in Category 3 and Ertekin Tekneci in Category 4 were the athletes who shared the first place.
AVIS 2022 Turkey Climbing Championship will continue with the second leg race to be held in Kartepe by Kocaeli Automobile Sports Club (KOSDER) on 04-05 June.
