Within the scope of Kuruçeşme Tram Works, one lane on the D-100 was closed to traffic

Due to the works on the tram line that will extend to Kuruçeşme by Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality, one lane of the D-100 Highway from Ankara-Istanbul and Istanbul-Ankara directions was closed to traffic. One leg of the 332-meter-long 9-foot and 8-span overpass, where the tram will pass, is being built in the middle of the D-100 highway. In the area where the foundation excavation works were carried out, one lane was closed to traffic and security measures were taken.

332 METERS LENGTH TRAM OVERPASS

Due to the construction works of the 100-meter-long, 332-foot and 9-span tram overpass, which will connect the beach road to Kuruçeşme by crossing the D-8, traffic precautions were taken and one lane was closed to traffic. 1400 steel beams, each 18 meters long, will be used in the tram overpass, where 150 tons of steel will be used. The load will not be loaded on concrete beams, but on seismic isolators made of steel and rubber material. The seismic isolators will absorb the load of the Akçaray Tram, which has a weight of 40 tons when empty and 70 tons when fully loaded. The steel beams produced at the factory will be transported by trucks and brought to Kocaeli, where they will be mounted with a crane.
