Culture and Tourism Minister Mehmet Nuri Ersoy stated that Turkey maintained its top spot in the Blue Flag, one of the world's most distinguished tourism and environmental awards, in 2022, and increased the number of award-winning beaches this year.

Emphasizing that as the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the Blue Flag will fly this year at the public beaches they put into service in Antalya and Muğla, Minister Ersoy said that 5 public beaches in Antalya and 1 in Muğla, built by the Ministry, were entitled to receive the Blue Flag.

Lake Iznik Raised Its First Blue Flag

As a result of the 2022 evaluations of the Blue Flag awards given by the International Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE), headquartered in Copenhagen, the capital of Denmark, the number of awarded beaches, which was 519 last year, reached 531 this year.

This year, 24 marinas and 15 tourism boats and 5 individual yachts were awarded the Blue Flag in Turkey.

Inciralti Public Beach, located in Iznik Lake in Bursa, was awarded the Blue Flag for the first time this year.

Blue Bayraklı The number of beaches rose to 229 in Antalya, 111 in Muğla, 11 in Mersin, and 2 in Kırklareli and Sakarya.

In the provinces of İzmir, Balıkesir, Samsun, Çanakkale, Kocaeli, Bartın, İstanbul, Ordu and Van, the figures of the previous year were preserved.

In Antalya, Lara 1 and Lara 2 Public Beaches of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and Manavgat, Beldibi and Camyuva Public Beaches belonging to the Ministry were among the beaches that were awarded the Blue Flag this year.
