Stating that 70 percent of the evacuation works have been completed, Mayor Soyer said, “There are 167 independent units in 381 buildings within the scope of the third phase of Uzunundere. After the site delivery at the end of February, we started the evacuation works. So far, 105 independent units in 223 structures have been evacuated. We will finish the evacuation of the remaining structures in a short time," he said.
Temporary housing and rental assistance
Underlining that they have provided temporary housing opportunities to 90 beneficiaries from Uzundere Mass Housing since the start of the evacuation works, Mayor Soyer said, “The rent payments for the 147 independent units that were evacuated were also covered by our Municipality. With the completion of the evacuation works, the rent payment to 248 independent units in total will be covered by us," he said.
Emphasis on on-site transformation
President Soyer stated that they accelerated the urban transformation by including İZBETON in the tender process and commissioning the building cooperatives established by business people, “We are determined to solve İzmir's urban transformation problem from the root. We create earthquake-resistant, safe and healthy neighborhoods in Izmir. Our most important point in the urban transformation process is to do the right and fair thing in transformation; not to separate anyone from their place, neighborhood or neighbor. We will finish this job as we promised by consensus, agreement, consultation and decision making together.
Construction work accelerated
Izmir Metropolitan Municipality continues its works for reconciliation negotiations and construction construction and new tender stages in four different urban transformation areas. The processes related to the construction tender/protocol of a total of 300 independent units, including independent units, were completed and the site was handed over and construction activities were started. It is aimed to go to the construction tender in the coming days for the construction of approximately 3 thousand 958 independent units to be built in Uzundere fourth stage, Gaziemir second stage and Örnekköy fifth stage. In addition, reconciliation negotiations continue with the beneficiaries in Ballıkuyu and Çiğli Güzeltepe.
