Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu made a written statement about the Çamlıca Tower. Noting that they have implemented important projects in transportation and communication in the last 20 years, Karaismailoğlu reminded that one of these projects is the Çamlıca Tower and that the tower was opened by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on May 29, 2021.
Pointing out that the Camlica Tower, which is the center of attraction for foreign tourists as well as Istanbulites, has become a center of attraction, Karaismailoğlu said, “The length of the Camlica Tower is 369 meters and its height above sea level is 587 meters. With this feature, it is the highest tower in Europe.”
Karaismailoğlu stated that everyone from 7 to 70 visited the Çamlıca Tower and announced that a total of 563 thousand people were hosted in a year. Karaismailoğlu emphasized that 19 thousand 176 people visited the Camlica Tower, which has become one of the favorite touristic places of Istanbul, during the Ramadan Feast, and the daily visitor record was broken with 4 thousand 7 people on May 821.
PICTURE POLLUTION ELIMINATED, ENERGY SAVED
Minister of Transport Karaismailoğlu said, “Çamlıca Tower contributes to the economy and tourism of the city with its souvenir shops, cafeteria, and observation terraces overlooking the view of Istanbul. In addition, in the broadcasting activities that started in Çamlıca Tower, for the first time in the world, 100 radio broadcasts were made from the same point, without interrupting each other's power and without interfering with each other. With this success, the Camlica Tower, which has become a center followed in the field of radio broadcasting in the world, has not been limited to the field of broadcasting. The old 33 antennas that caused electromagnetic and visual pollution were removed and replaced with a symbolic structure for our country. Thanks to the highly efficient antenna and transmitter systems in Çamlıca Tower, energy savings are also at maximum level. We also contribute to the tourism of Istanbul, which we contribute to its silhouette," he said.
