Beyoğlu Culture Road Festival Started With Enthusiasm

Beyoğlu Culture Road Festival started with a special event held in front of Atatürk Cultural Center. FOTOMARATON, which was held with the presence of the Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy and the participation of 1.500 photographers from all over Turkey, carried the festival enthusiasm to Taksim Square. Beyoğlu Culture Road Festival will bring together 12 artists with Istanbulites in more than 4 events until 953 June.

Beyoğlu Cultural Road Festival, organized by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, started in front of Atatürk Cultural Center with the PHOTOMARATON event attended by 1.500 photographers from all over Turkey. The event, where thousands of photographers gathered in front of Atatürk Cultural Center to photograph Beyoğlu Culture Road, portrayed Taksim Square with colorful images, took place with the participation of Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy.

The 6-hour PHOTOMARATON, brought to life by the Photography Organizations Association, started with an enthusiastic cortege on Istiklal Street. An exciting competition was also held within the scope of the event, which was open to amateur and professional photography enthusiasts with 3 different themes determined at Atatürk Cultural Center, Şişhane and Galataport points. Phones and earphones were given to the top three winners of the photographers who submitted a photograph they chose for each theme to Galataport at the end of PHOTOMARATON.

Fotomarathon Will Contribute to Tourism

Photomarathon is a competitive and enjoyable event where participants take a series of photos within a predetermined time and within the framework of the themes explained at the starting points.

Photographers can participate in photomarathons only with digital cameras, smartphones and tablets. Participants are not allowed to interfere with the frames they captured during the photomarathon with photo editing programs such as Photoshop.

PHOTOMARATON, organized as part of the Beyoğlu Cultural Road Festival, will make an important contribution to the tourism of the region by drawing attention to the cultural heritage of Istanbul with the art of photography.

Over 12 Events Until June 1.500

Bringing Istanbul's cultural and artistic life to the world stage, Beyoğlu Cultural Road Festival will host more than 12 events that will last until 1.500 June. 3 open-air stages, 15 street stages and 4 street events set up within the scope of the festival will carry the festival enthusiasm all over the city. The events, which will be held with 4 cultural and artistic institution stakeholders in 953 venues and 40 halls, where 62 thousand 53 veteran local and foreign artists will participate, will bring together everyone from 7 to 70 in Istanbul under the unifying power of art.

World Stars Will Meet With Istanbulites

Within the scope of Beyoğlu Culture Road Festival, many activities will meet art lovers from Istanbul, from concerts to exhibitions, from children's workshops to talks, from theater and opera performances to film screenings and open-air concerts.

The Greek artist, one of the most important representatives of Rebetiko music in the world, will perform the opening concert of the festival at Glykeria Atatürk Cultural Center.

Sinan Opera, which was composed by the instructions of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and made its world premiere at the Beyoğlu Culture Road Festival last year, will meet with the audience again on the AKM stage as part of the festival.

Barcelona Gipsy Balkan Orchestra, who made the traditional Gypsy songs of Eastern Europe popular with the world, and Tunisian oud master Dhaffer Youssef, who masterfully blends jazz, Indian music and electronic music, will sing their most beautiful songs for Istanbulites at the Beyoğlu Cultural Road Festival.

Within the scope of the festival, Hungary's leading and multi-award-winning pianist János Balázs will meet with music lovers for the first time in Turkey with an unforgettable concert on the 175th anniversary of the world-famous Hungarian composer Liszt's visit to Istanbul.

Streets and Squares Will Become Stages

During the Beyoğlu Culture Road Festival, the stages set up in the streets and squares will carry the festival atmosphere all over the city. The rhythm of the music will rise in Istanbul in colorful events held at Galata Tower, Talimhane, Narmanlı Han, Istiklal, French Street, Tomtom Street, Odakule, Tünel, Karaköy Ferry Terminal and many more until June 12. On the Şişhane Square Open Stage, Sakiler, İncesaz, Melek Mosso, Ceylan Ertem, Jabber, Deeprise, Sattas, Metin Özülkü, Yeni Türkü, Gripin, Marsis & Şiar and Karsu will share the excitement of the festival.

Türk Telekom Open-Air Stage, which was specially set up for the festival at Atatürk Cultural Center, will host free concerts throughout the day. Popular voices and bands of our country, Mazhar Alanson, Can Bonomo, Yedinci Ev, Elif Buse Doğan, Fatma Turgut and many more, will put their signature to unforgettable performances at Türk Telekom Outdoor Stage.

İrem Derici, Oğuzhan Koç, Gökhan Türkmen, Murat Dalkılıç, Rafet El Roman, Simge Sağın and the concert series will be presented free of charge to music lovers, accompanied by a giant stage to be set up in Galataport Istanbul Clock Tower Square, where the Tophane Clock Tower, whose history dates back to 1848, is located in its center. Murat Boz will meet with his fans.

Exhibition Programs from Traditional Arts to Digital

Art lovers will meet in Beyoğlu with special exhibitions throughout the festival, each more valuable than the other, who grew up in our country and became famous around the world with their works. Refik Anadol, whose works are followed with interest by international art circles, His new exhibition “Rumi Dreams” inspired by Mevlana can be visited at the AKM Theater Foyer. The exhibition “The Thorn on My Foot”, which traces the life of painter and academic Hüsamettin Koçan, will bring together the most successful works of the artist with Istanbulites at AKM Gallery. The works of Turkey's first female ceramic artist, Fürayya Koral, in the TBMM Collection can be visited at Galataport throughout the festival.
