President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, in his speech at the opening ceremony of Rize-Artvin Airport, announced the purchase prices and support price for 2022 fresh tea.
President Erdoğan stated that the most important source of income in the region from Trabzon to this side is tea production and shared the purchase prices of fresh tea for 2022.
President Erdogan said:
“Last year, the purchase price of fresh tea was 3,87 lira per kilogram. This year, we are increasing the base price to be applied in fresh tea purchases to 73 liras to 6 cents with an increase of more than 70 percent, and the support price to 13 cents, which is 130 cents per kilogram, with an increase of more than 30 percent. Thus, our producers will be able to supply their tea to the factory at 75 liras per kilogram, with an increase of 7% on average, together with supporting their tea compared to last year. I wish our new age tea purchase price to be beneficial to our region and my fellow countrymen.
I would like to give a good news to the tea producers of İkizdere and Çamlıhemşin. The constructions of the İkizdere and Çamlıhemşin tea factories, which will serve more than 100 thousand producers with a daily capacity of 5 tons, are currently under project. Hopefully, these factories will start to buy and produce tea in the next campaign period. I wish good luck to our new tea factories.
