Social and Economic Support Payments Moved forward

Our Minister of Family and Social Services, Derya Yanık, stated that the May payments of the Social and Economic Support (SED), which are deposited to the accounts of families in need every month in order to meet the expenses of their children, were put forward due to the Ramadan Feast.

Minister Yanık stated that a total of 236.544.000 TL in May SED payment was made to families in need.

Derya Yanık stated that SED service was provided by the Ministry of Family and Social Services in order to support families in need.

Emphasizing that this support is provided for families to meet their children's other expenses, especially education, Minister Yanık said:

“It is among our priorities that family integrity is not disrupted due to economic reasons, and that our children grow up with their families. With this support, families can meet the needs of their children, so that they do not fall behind their peers.

Due to the Eid al-Fitr, we brought the Social and Economic Support (SED) payments forward for the month of May for our children and deposited them into the accounts. We paid a total of 237 million TL to families for our children benefiting from SED.”

Stating that approximately 146 thousand children benefit from SED, Minister Yanık stated that an average of 1650 TL support is provided for each child.
