Sea Taxis, the new generation and environmentally friendly transportation vehicle of Istanbul residents, has reached a fleet of 10 vehicles by adding 15 more completed to its voyages, which started with 25 vehicles. A contract was signed between Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) and City Lines on 50 August 12 for Sea Taxis, which will have a total of 2021 vehicles. The contract value of the project was 84 million 950 thousand TL and the market value of the project at that time was determined to be 134 million TL. İBB saved 49 million TL by producing the vehicle with its own means. In addition, 176 people got jobs in Sea Taxi's, where mostly young people are employed.
According to current research, it has been calculated that this value has reached 210 million TL. With this project, İBB has a low-cost Sea Taxi Fleet of 50 units, while it has acquired the operating cost of approximately 2 years, excluding passenger revenues, at the purchasing stage.
500 thousand TL income in a short time
Sea Taxis, which started its voyages on December 1, 2021, made an average of 3 trips per day. It achieved a turnover of approximately 500 thousand TL from these expeditions. It is planned that each vehicle will make 12 trips for the Sea Taxi, whose number of passengers is becoming more and more widespread. In return, an annual income of 59 million is expected.
8 NEW BOATS ARE COMING
8 Sea Taxi, whose production is completed and the delivery process to IMM continues, will start its voyages very soon. The new vehicles waiting to go out to sea at the shipyard are kept in the same area as the Sea Taxi that have completed their voyages. After the relevant process, it will start to carry passengers on the seas.
