Samsun Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mustafa Demir examined the intersection and signaling systems works on Atatürk Boulevard on site as part of the Smart City Traffic Safety Project.
Mustafa Demir, the Mayor of the Metropolitan Municipality, who closely follows the works carried out in every point of Samsun, recently won the 'Municipality Award' in the 'AUS Turkey 5th Way of Reason in Transportation Awards' organized by the Intelligent Transportation Systems Association of Turkey (AUS Turkey). He followed the work done within the scope of the site.
President Demir, who went to the area where the junction and signalization systems on Atatürk Boulevard were installed today, received information about what was done from the Head of the Transportation Department, Kadir Gürkan. Expressing that their efforts to accelerate the traffic flow in the main transportation arteries are progressing rapidly, Samsun Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mustafa Demir said, “We are implementing the Smart City Traffic Safety Project with the most comprehensive, widest and lowest expansions. Our colleagues are working meticulously on the project, which is 40 percent completed.
Stating that they are making great efforts to integrate the technological infrastructure, which has an important place in the new world order, in Samsun, President Demir said, “With this project we have done together with ASELSAN, we will change the traffic flow rate and the intersections that are out of synchronization. There will be dynamic intersections to reduce traffic density. Samsun is a city that closely follows technological developments in every field and can put it into practice. With our visionary projects, Samsun is the city of the future," he said.
