Mokra Gora Valley on the World's Best Touristic Villages List

Serbia's picturesque destination, Mokra Gora, is also included in the list of “The World's Best Touristic Villages” announced by the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) at the end of last year.

Chosen among 75 touristic places in 170 countries of the world, Mokra Gora has been certified by the World Tourism Organization as one of the most beautiful villages in the world. Surrounded by pristine valleys and canyons, Mokra Gora was one of Serbia's top tourist destinations with its breathtaking nature and excellent skiing facilities. Introducing Mokra Gora World-famous director Kusturica, nicknamed "The Prince of the Balkans" by Famous Director Emir Kusturica, built a town in Mokra Gora and settled here, impressed by its beauty during the shooting of the movie "Living is a Miracle".

The town of Drvengrad, inspired by the Ancient City of Ephesus and using pine trees in its construction, is described by visitors as “the place where utopia becomes reality”. Drvengrad, which has made a name for itself with its organic food production and cultural activities, also hosts the "Kustendorf", a film and music festival where thousands of visitors flock every year, and the theater festival.

A Railway Engineering Wonder: Sargan Eight This legendary railway, named after the "300" shape it drew on the hills 8 meters above sea level, is one of the most touristic places not only in Mokra Gora but also in all of Serbia. The only one of its kind as a tourist museum-railway, Sargan Eight is famous for being a narrow railway that runs through Serbia's most beautiful landscapes.
