Meray Differential Level Junction Brings Merzifon Transportation to Breathe

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu stated that 114 percent domestic and national resources are used at the 100-meter-long Merzifon Meray Junction and said, “We have eliminated the stop-starts on the line with the Merzifon Meray Differential Level Junction. We will save an average of 22 million liras annually with the intersection, which allows for a much faster, safer and more comfortable journey.”

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu made statements after his examinations at Merzifon Meray Junction. Starting his speech by giving information about the programs in Amasya, Karaismailoğlu said, “Our country has been fighting for a long time under the leadership of our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in order to achieve its economic independence. We are planning the future of Turkey with domestic and national solutions in production, employment, export and growth. We are working to raise Turkey among the top 10 economies of the world with our transportation and infrastructure investments. From 2003 to the end of 2021, our investments in road, rail, air, sea and communication reached 172 billion dollars. Under the leadership of our President, we increased the divided highway length of our country 4,5 times to 28 thousand 600 kilometers during our governments. We overcame the steep rocks and deep valleys of our country with tunnels and viaducts. The total length of our tunnels was only 50 kilometers. We increased this 13 times to 651 kilometers. We built our nation's half-century dream High Speed Train lines. We have increased our airports from 26 to 57. Our next goal is; Reaching 61 airports. In 2021, Istanbul Airport became the second in the world with 26 million 500 thousand passengers.

RİZE-ARTVİN AIRPORT WILL OPEN ON MAY 14

Karaismailoğlu, who gave the good news that Rize-Artvin Airport, which was built by making Turkey's 2nd and the world's 5th sea filling, will open on May 14, said that Türksat5A and Türksat5B communication satellites were also successfully sent into space, and that Turkey's 2 satellites were simultaneously sent to space. He said it was one of the few countries that sent it. Saying, “We will send our domestic and national communication satellite, Türksat6A, into space in the 100th anniversary of our Republic,” Minister of Transport, Karaismailoğlu, underlined that the number of mobile subscribers increased from 28 million to 87 million.

9.5 BILLION TL INVESTMENT IN AMASYA'S TRANSPORTATION AND COMMUNICATIONS

Noting that Amasya has received the share it deserves from transportation and communication investments and will continue to receive it from now on, Karaismailoğlu continued his speech as follows:

“We are planning the necessary investments in 5 sectors in all our cities, with the meticulousness of the state, with a common mind, thinking about the future and our youth. During the period of our governments, we spent 9.5 billion liras for Amasya's transportation and communication investments. We took the divided road length of Amasya from 26 kilometers and increased it 9 times to 272 kilometers. The divided road ratio in the entire highway network in the province is 58 percent. Also, in the last 20 years, we have increased the length of hot bituminous paved roads in Amasya from 28 kilometers to more than 10 kilometers by increasing it more than 300 times. We drilled mountains in Amasya just like Ferhat. The total length of the 5 tunnels we have built throughout the province, one single tube and 6 double tube, has reached 7 meters. The total length of the 666 bridges we completed and put into service in Amasya, the city of Şehzadeler, reached 94 thousand 7 meters. We opened the Amasya ring road, which is vital for the city center of Amasya, and took the transit traffic out of the city. Thanks to the 466-kilometer Amasya ring road, we have increased traffic safety and comfort and saved 12 million TL annually from fuel and time. We reduced exhaust gas emissions by 291 thousand 5 tons. All this; It is a sign of hard work and value. We are lovers of Turkey, who produce work, not talk, work with the love of the nation, and strive to provide the same service to every corner of the country. We are never satisfied with what is done; We always wanted better and more beneficial for our nation and our country. That's why we say 'Don't stop, just keep going' for Amasya. The total of the projects of 497 highway investments that are under construction throughout the province reaches 9 billion liras. While preserving the history of Amasya, we contributed to the modernization of the buildings in our service area. We continue to expand the Merzifon Airport terminal building. We will complete the project in June.”

WE WILL OPEN OUR BADAL TUNNEL SOON

Emphasizing that the Badal Tunnel and Merzifon Meray Differential Level Junction, which are among the other important investments that were completed in Amasya and brought to the city, will breathe life into road transportation, Karaismailoğlu said, “The Badal Tunnel and Meray Junction project is the Turkish Transit Transportation Corridor (which continues from the Iranian border to Bulgaria). Two important points on the Osmancık-Merzifon road on the TETEK) line. We built the Badal Tunnel to raise the horizontal and vertical standards on the Merzifon section of the road. Our tunnel, which will serve vehicle traffic with 2×2 lanes and in divided road standard, is 905 meters long. Together with the connection roads, the project reaches 4.5 kilometers. In project scope; We have completed 65 bridges and 2 underpasses with a length of 2 meters. Our Badal Tunnel, which was built using 100% domestic engineering facilities, was built with the sweat of their heads and with the minds of Turkish engineers and workers. We will open our Badal Tunnel, which has been completed, into service soon. The Badal Tunnel, which we built with the aim of increasing the road standard at the Amasya crossing of the Turkey Transit Transportation Corridor line, will eliminate the disruptions caused by snow in winter and heavy rain and icing in spring months.

WE ELIMINATE STOP-STOPS ON THE LINE

Pointing out that the Meray Differential Junction Bridge, which was built where the traffic is heavy, is 114 meters long, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Karaismailoğlu said, “The intersection in the divided road standard has 4 spans and the platform width is 2×12 meters. We have completed a total of 1,6 kilometers of road construction in the junction production. As in Badal Tunnel, we used 100% domestic and national resources at Meray Junction. With the Merzifon Meray Differential Level Junction, built at the Meray Junction, where an average of 13 thousand vehicles pass daily, we eliminated the stop-starts on the line. With the intersection that allows for a much faster, safer and more comfortable journey, we will save an average of 21 million liras annually, 1 million liras from time and 22 million liras from fuel. At the same time, we will prevent 187 tons of carbon emissions every year with the intersection," he said.
