After the heavy snowfall in Bolu, due to the melting of the snow and the strong wind, a landslide occurred at the entrance of the Ankara direction of the TEM Highway Bolu Mountain Tunnel at around 19.50 yesterday. As a result of the landslide on the tunnel, the highway was closed to traffic on both sides. After the closure of the road, the teams continue their intense work without interruption.

Making a statement about the situation, Bolu Governor Ahmet Ümit said that the tunnel could be opened to traffic tomorrow.

The remaining statements of Ahmet Ümit are as follows: “The risk continues in the region. The studies have started and are continuing. The Istanbul direction has been completely cleared, but the cleaning of the materials that came with the landslide in the Ankara direction continues. In addition, investigations were made about the mountain. Our experts state that when these works are completed, traffic will be started in a controlled manner. We estimate that it can be opened in a controlled manner until tomorrow.”
