Green support is coming to small and medium-sized businesses. KOSGEB launched SME Energy Efficiency Support. Industry and Technology Minister Mustafa Varank noted that new technologies such as electric vehicles and charging infrastructures will have a very important impact on the green transformation point and said, “Especially our manufacturing SMEs need to reduce their carbon emissions and increase their energy efficiency. We are launching the SME Energy Efficiency Support Program through KOSGEB.” said.
Stating that with this support, the enterprises will cover some of the expenses in line with the energy survey costs and the changes proposed as a result of the survey, Minister Varank said, “For example, we will provide support up to 100 thousand liras for the replacement of their inefficient electric motors with efficient ones, and up to 400 thousand liras for their efficiency-increasing expenses.” he said.
An important move came from KOSGEB on green transformation, which is the most important agenda item of the industry. SME Energy Efficiency Support was activated in order to ensure a sustainable, resource-efficient and efficient transformation of SMEs.

UP TO 400 THOUSAND LIRA
With this program, we will cover the energy audit costs that the enterprises will have authorized persons to do. We will not stop there. If our SMEs make the suggested changes as a result of the study, we will cover some of their expenses here. For example, we will provide support up to 100 thousand liras for the replacement of their inefficient electric motors with efficient ones, and up to 400 thousand liras for their efficiency-increasing expenses.
APPLICATIONS OPENED
We are starting applications as of today. I personally think that this program will be very beneficial for our SMEs operating in the metal sector. For this reason, I invite all our businesses to take advantage of this support by examining the conditions. Good luck to all our SMEs in advance.
100 THOUSAND SMEs INCLUDED
SMEs, excluding enterprises that receive support within the scope of the "Regulation on Increasing Efficiency in the Use of Energy Resources and Energy", will be able to benefit from the SME Energy Efficiency Support. Approximately 500 thousand enterprises with annual energy consumption below 100 TEP (Ton Equivalent Petroleum) will be able to benefit from the support.
FIRST STUDY AFTER CHANGE
The program has two separate modules as Energy Engines Support and Efficiency Increasing Support. Energy Engines Support was designed for SMEs that consume 10-99 TOE of energy annually. In the first stage of this support, Energy Efficiency Consulting (EVD) companies, those with survey project certificates or energy managers will conduct engine surveys of enterprises. The prepared report will be entered into the KOSGEB system. KOSGEB will support businesses up to 2 thousand 500 TL for the report in the first place. The report is in the direction of the change of the engine used by the SME and if the business makes this change, it will receive a non-refundable support of up to 100 thousand liras from KOSGEB.
THE GOAL IS TO INCREASE EFFICIENCY
In the second module of the program, Efficiency Increasing Support, an energy survey will be conducted in the first stage. Authorized persons; will conduct a detailed study from boilers to fans, from furnaces to thermal measurement. After the report is entered into the KOSGEB system, a support payment of up to 30 thousand liras will be made to the enterprise. If the business makes changes in accordance with the findings in the report, it will receive non-refundable support from KOSGEB up to 400 thousand liras. Businesses with a TEP value between 100-500 will be able to benefit from this support.
NEW SUPPORT NEXT
In order to adapt the environment and green development to its supports, KOSGEB will also create new support mechanisms within the scope of needs such as reducing emissions, transitioning to a cleaner and circular economy, eliminating the industry that produces environmental pollution, and increasing energy efficiency.
