Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Dr. Memduh Büyükkılıç opened the exhibition prepared by the Chamber of Architects Kayseri Branch in memory of Mimar Sinan, who was a son of the ancient city and made great contributions to the construction of civilization.
In the workshops of the Chamber of Architects Kayseri Branch, the team consisting of students and members embroidered motifs from the works of Mimar Sinan. The processed works were exhibited at the entrance of the Metropolitan Municipality due to Mimar Sinan Week.
The exhibition, which was opened in the foyer area at the entrance of the municipality, was attended by Mayor Büyükkılıç, Melikgazi Mayor Mustafa Palancıoğlu, TMMOB Chamber of Architects Kayseri Branch President Murtaza Er and his management, Nuh Naci Yazgan University Department of Architecture Dr. Faculty Member Şeyda Güngör and Deputy Secretary Generals Hamdi Elcuman and Serdar Öztürk attended.
Speaking at the Mimar Sinan Week Workshop Exhibition, Mayor Büyükkılıç said, “As it will be remembered for the commemoration week of Mimar Sinan, we are opening a work done by the valuable team of our chamber of architects, after a really well-attended and high-intensity event in Ağırnas. I would like to thank both our teachers and students in the workshop who made this work. I hope something will be done to commemorate Mimar Sinan.”
METROPOLITAN HOLDS THE VALUES OF KAYSERİ
Büyükkılıç stated that they continue to work on Mimar Sinan, who came out of the heart of Kayseri and set an example to the whole world, and said:
“First of all, we continue to work to carry both the ambition and works of Mimar Sinan, who is the pride of our Kayseri, to the future, and to encourage our youth in that direction. In this regard, there are various book studies and project competition studies that our Melikgazi Municipality, Talas Municipality, and Metropolitan Municipality have done with our Chamber of Architects. Thank you to those who contributed.”

Nuh Naci Yazgan University Department of Architecture Dr. On the other hand, Faculty Member Şeyda Güngör said, “We are happy to commemorate Mimar Sinan together with architects, architecture students and everyone who served in the field of development. It is he and his works that enable us to meet. To properly commemorate Mimar Sinan means to understand him correctly. I think we should strive for this. However, if we understand him well, we will remember him correctly, protect and evaluate what he has done correctly," he said.
Murtaza Er, Head of the Kayseri Branch of the Chamber of Architects, stated that they are trying to reflect the works of Mimar Sinan, who left different works in different geographies of the world, with 4 different workshops, and thanked everyone who supported and contributed, especially the President Büyükkılıç.
Within the scope of the program, 15th Term Competitions Book Presentation was also made. President Büyükkılıç, together with President Palancıoğlu, also examined the books of Mimar Sinan Museum and Architecture Center National Architectural Project Competition and Kayseri Melikgazi Meeting Point National Idea Competition, which were brought into the world of literature by being published as a book.
