Laptops, mobile phones, cameras... 3 thousand 979 items forgotten by the passengers at the busses, Metrobus, Nostalgic Tram, Tunnel, stops and stations belonging to IETT enterprises will be put up for sale on Tuesday, May 31, 2022, between 09.30:12.00 and XNUMX:XNUMX at the Karaköy Station Building.
From toys to electronics, from clothes to identity cards… Every year, thousands of items are forgotten in IETT buses, stops, Nostalgic Tram, historical Tunnel, Metrobus vehicles and stations. IETT Lost Property Unit returns the forgotten items to their owners. On the other hand, the belongings whose owners cannot be found are recorded and stored within the framework of the IETT General Directorate of Founded Goods Directive. It is destroyed or donated when necessary. Sale by auction is also carried out within the framework of the directive.
All found items that cannot be delivered to their owners, whose owners have not been released and whose storage period has expired are sorted out, and unused items such as clothing, bags, books, stationery and draperies are transferred to the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality. Electronic and electrical goods that cannot be delivered to their owners are put up for sale with the auction method after all technical evaluations are made under the supervision of the tender commission, after the waiting period has expired.
The found items will meet with their new owners in an auction to be held at the Tunnel entrance, at the IETT General Directorate's building in Karaköy, on Tuesday, May 31, between 09.30:12.00 and XNUMX:XNUMX this year.
What can you do to find your lost item?
At the bus, Metrobus, stops and stations, you can go to the business manager of the line or contact ALO153 on the same day for your forgotten or lost belongings. On other days, you can fill out the lost property form at iett.istanbul, create a lost property application at turkiye.gov.tr via e-government, or call 0212 372 32 43 to find your lost property.
