Hyundai IONIQ 5 Named Car of the Year in the World

Established in 2021 as a sub-brand of Hyundai, IONIQ is running from success to success with its first model 5 on the E-GMP platform. IONIQ 5, which has won numerous awards in all markets where it is offered for sale, was selected as the “World Car Of The Year- WCOTY” at the International Automobile Fair held in New York. IONIO 5 also collected the Electric Car of the Year and Design of the Year awards.

WCOTY, one of the most prestigious automobile awards in the world, is organized by a total of 33 automotive journalists from 102 countries. The innovative car, which has won numerous international awards since its launch in 2021, can be charged from 18 to 10 percent in just 80 minutes. Featuring ultra-fast 800 V charging, the car uses E-GMP, a global modular platform that has also been developed for a more spacious interior. The vehicle, which also has a four-wheel drive (4WD) system, has a maximum range of approximately 470-480 km on a single charge, according to the WLTP standard. The IONIQ 5 is also equipped with Vehicle-to-Vehicle Charging (V2L) technology, while also featuring advanced connectivity and cutting-edge in-car driver assistance systems.

Hyundai has been transforming into a smart mobility solutions provider in recent years, while also accelerating its electrification strategy to become the world's leading EV manufacturer. The South Korean brand plans to launch a total of 2030 new electric models, including the Genesis, by 17. Hyundai also aims to increase its annual global sales of electric cars to 2030 million units by 1,87. IONIQ 5 will be offered for sale in Turkey in the very near future, and will offer its consumers comfort and driving economy at the same time.
