Flight and bus prices for the holiday period have been announced. After the increase in fuel, travel companies increased prices between 50 and 75 percent compared to last year. The most convenient “one-way” bus tickets from Istanbul to holiday regions such as Izmir and Antalya start from 350 liras, and plane tickets from 600 liras. Round-trip tickets to Anatolia go on sale for 700 liras for Ankara, 900 liras for Trabzon and at least 1000 liras for Diyarbakır. The Ministry, on the other hand, announced that the number of train services with more affordable prices will be increased.

Shortly before the Ramadan holiday, the prices of domestic plane and bus tickets were also updated. Prices have increased by 50-75% compared to last year.

According to the news of Taylan Özgür Dil from Hürriyet; Istanbul residents who want to spend the first holiday of the year in their holiday regions or their hometowns need to pay an average of at least 700 Turkish liras round trip. Considering Friday, April 29, the last official business day just before the Eid holiday, the 'one-way' tariff of bus companies for holiday regions such as Izmir, Antalya and Bodrum starts from 350 liras and extends to 500 liras. Traveling by plane, on the other hand, costs at least 700 lira per person to go to the holiday destinations in one direction.

  • At least 760 round trips from Istanbul to Antalya by bus
  • By plane, Istanbul-Antalya round trip is at least 1400 liras.
  • By plane, Istanbul – Bodrum round trip is at least 1400 liras.
  • Istanbul-Ankara round trip by bus is at least 700 liras
  • By plane Istanbul - Ankara round trip at least 1000 liras
  • Istanbul - Ankara round trip with YHT 261 lira (limited number)
  • By bus, at least 900 liras round trip from Istanbul to Trabzon

Birol Özcan, President of the Turkish Bus Drivers Federation (TOFED), who conveyed his views on the subject, said that people prefer bus and plane travel rather than automobile travel due to fuel prices. Ozcan continued:

“Currently, our bus occupancy rates for the feast have reached 80 percent. We asked the Ministry for permission for additional flights. Soon, we will launch additional flights as we do every year. Prices will not go higher than the level they are now. The prices of the additional services will also be at the same level as the current bus prices.”

ADDITIONAL TRAINS FOR 45 THOUSAND PEOPLE

The Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure has taken steps to increase train services, which are more affordable than bus and plane travel. In this context, there will be additional flights for a total of 10 thousand 728 people, 34 thousand 800 on the high-speed train line and 45 thousand 528 on the conventional trains during the Eid period. Tickets for additional flights on Ankara-Istanbul, Konya-Istanbul YHT lines and additional wagons to be placed on Izmir, Eastern Express and Aegean Express will be on sale as of today. In the written statement made by the Ministry, it was announced that TCDD Tasimacilik AS will add additional flights to the trains in order to meet the increasing passenger demand due to the Ramadan Feast. Accordingly, additional YHT services will be organized on the Ankara-Istanbul (Söğütlüçeşme) and Konya-Istanbul (Söğütlüçeşme) lines. An additional capacity of 29 thousand 30 people will be provided with additional flights that will operate every day between 1-6 April and 7-8-10-728 May. YHTs that will run between Ankara and Istanbul (Söğütlüçeşme) will depart from Ankara at 11.50 and from Istanbul (Söğütlüçeşme) at 17.50. YHTs that will run between Konya and Istanbul (Söğütlüçeşme) will depart from Konya at 09.45 and from Istanbul (Söğütlüçeşme) at 15.30.
