Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Prof. Dr. Visiting Yılmaz Büyükerşen, CHP Mersin Deputy Ali Mahir Basarir said, “Give us Turkey, let's do it like Eskişehir.”
CHP Mersin Deputy Ali Mahir Basarir, who came to Eskişehir for the Book Signing and Talk event organized by Odunpazarı City Council, visited Mayor Büyükerşen in his office. Stating that they are proud of Mayor Büyükerşen during the visit, which took place in a friendly atmosphere, Başarır said, “Our Metropolitan Mayor Prof. Dr. We were happy to be together with Yılmaz Büyükerşen. Sir, it is very valuable for us. I said something during the local election period in Mersin. Ask us 'what will you do?' they were saying. I also said; 'Give us to Turkey, let's do it like Eskişehir.' Therefore, under the leadership of our teacher, Eskişehir is an example for our country.”
President Büyükerşen thanked Basarir for his words and said, “We have the smallest budget among metropolitan cities. We do everything ourselves. Despite the limited budget, we do all our work with the self-catering method. You know, there is a saying that 'bad neighbors make people a home'. Bad administrations forced municipalities to build workshops and production units. We do everything ourselves, such as repairing our construction machines, vehicles, trams, furniture, iron materials, pipes, infrastructure, saplings, growing flowers. Your beautiful words are true. That's how we did it."
At the end of the visit, Basarir signed his book 'The Gang of Five' and presented it to President Büyükerşen, while Büyükerşen signed and presented the book 'The Clock That Stops Time'.
In addition, while Büyükerşen was doing a city tour in the Odunpazarı museum district with Engin Özkoç, CHP Group Deputy Chairman, Tuncay Özkan, Deputy Chairman, and Deputy Ali Mahir Basarir, Özkoç, Özkan and Sırar later attended the event held at the Hasan Polatkan Cultural Center.
