The Gender Equality International Cartoon Exhibition of the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, which ensures the strong participation of women in life by making important projects on gender equality, started to be exhibited by a private institution for the first time after public institutions. The exhibition, which consists of works that were awarded and deemed worthy of being exhibited within the scope of the Gender Equality International Cartoon Contest, met with art lovers at Agora İzmir Shopping Center. Along with the exhibition, İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Social Projects Department also opened a stand where the services of the Key Holistic Service Center will be presented. The exhibition can be visited until 1 May.

The works that were awarded and deemed worthy of exhibition in the Gender Equality Cartoon Contest organized at the international level by the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, which ensures the strong participation of women in social gender equality with the projects it carries out, continue to meet with art lovers in order to raise social awareness. Agora İzmir Shopping Center is hosting the exhibition as the first private institution after Ahmed Adnan Saygun Art Center, Republican People's Party Headquarters and district municipalities. İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor attended the ceremony where the Key Holistic Service Center stand was opened together with the exhibition. Tunç Soyer's wife Neptün Soyer, Head of the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Gender Equality Commission Atty. Nilay Kökkılınç, Agora Shopping Center General Manager Hasan Noyan, İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Social Projects Department Head Anıl Kaçar, İzmir Metropolitan Municipality bureaucrats and art lovers. The exhibition can be visited until May 1.

Neptune Soyer: “Izmir is the city of democracy and equality”

Mayor of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Tunç Soyer's wife, Neptün Soyer, said, “The Gender Equality Cartoon Exhibition met with the private sector after the public space. As Agora Shopping Center management; After the support you gave to history in the excavations of Teos Ancient City and the support you gave to small producers and agriculture by establishing a market in İzmir for the first time, you are now supporting gender equality. Thank you for bringing this exhibition together with the people of Izmir. İzmir is the city of democracy and equality.”

Kökkılınç: “We want the private sector to walk with us”

İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Gender Equality Commission President Atty. Nilay Kökkılınç said, “As İzmir Metropolitan Municipality, we attach great importance to gender equality. It is included in the fifth article of the United Nations' sustainable development goals. We want the struggle in this field not only to remain in the public sphere, but also to walk with us in the private sector. Agora is breaking new ground in İzmir, hosting our exhibition”.

Noyan: “We want to support any project of the Metropolitan”

Agora Shopping Center General Manager Hasan Noyan said, “Izmir Metropolitan Municipality is the pioneer of firsts. Agora Shopping Center has completed its 19th year. We are the city's shopping centre. It's up to us to be the first. As Agora Shopping Center, we would like to support whatever project of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality is needed and be together," he said.

Kaçar: “We are very happy and honored”

İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Social Projects Department Head Anıl Kaçar said, “We are trying to make gender inequality visible and increase social awareness by carrying the exhibition to all districts of İzmir, throughout the country and even abroad. Today, we are in Agora as a result of the cooperation made with the power we received from our President and a common mind. We are very happy and honored. We would like to thank Agora for its partnership.”
