Under the leadership of Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BTSO), the launch meeting of the “BTSO Kitchen Academy Future is in the Kitchen” project, which was implemented within the scope of the 2021 Social Development Support Program (SOGEP) of Bursa Eskisehir Bilecik Development Agency (BEBKA), was held.

'BTSO Kitchen Academy', which was implemented by BTSO in line with the demands of the food-beverage and accommodation sectors, continues to develop projects for the qualified employment needs of enterprises. BTSO Board Member Irmak Aslan, BEBKA Secretary General Zeki Durak, Demirtaş Organized Industrial Zone Business People Association (DOSABSİAD) attended the introductory meeting of the “Future is in the Kitchen” project, which was prepared by BTSO Kitchen Academy with the aim of facilitating employment in the food and beverage industry by providing individuals in disadvantaged groups with vocational skills. ) Chairman of the Board of Directors Nilüfer Çevikel, Bursa Probation Manager Serkan Güler, Green Crescent Counseling Center (YEDAM) Social Service Specialist Büşra Aydın and sector representatives attended. Speaking at the opening of the program, Irmak Aslan said that the project not only trained qualified personnel for the sector, but also provided the physical spaces needed by the sector.

BTSO Board Member Irmak Aslan stated that BTSO has been working to support the food and beverage industry for a long time and said, “We have carried out many successful works on the way we started four years ago in order to train qualified personnel for the food-beverage and accommodation sector. During this period, we also included disadvantaged groups in our projects. With the support of BEBKA, this first project in its field was realized in Bursa. At the same time, with the support of Bursa Ministry of Probation and Justice, we realized our project on children driven to crime. We will continue our projects at full speed in order to increase qualified employment.” said.

Zeki Durak, BEBKA Secretary General, stated that the “BTSO Kitchen Academy Future is in the Kitchen” project is very valuable and said, “As BEBKA, we wanted to be a partner in this excitement. As a matter of fact, the process of supporting the project was carried out in a positive way. We think that the project has a very valuable place for our region and we are very happy to be in it.” used the expressions.

Nilüfer Çevikel, Chairman of DOSABSİAD Board of Directors, also thanked BTSO for the implementation of such an important project. Chairman Çevikel said, “I am extremely happy with the work. When the project was explained, we said 'we should be in it'. The value of making people a profession is immeasurable and this is provided in the project. The fact that there are disadvantaged groups in it makes the project even more special.” said.

YEDAM Social Work Specialist Büşra Aydın stated that the “Future is in the Kitchen” project, which was carried out under the leadership of BTSO, is very valuable and said, “BTSO wanted to cooperate with us at the point of providing people with a profession and bringing them into society. While providing support in this area, we will carry out studies to increase the living standard of the clients in the continuation of the process.” he said.

At the end of the meeting, BTSO Board Member Irmak Aslan answered the questions of the sector representatives.

THE FUTURE IN THE KITCHEN PROJECT

With the Future in the Kitchen project, it is aimed to provide vocational training in 18 occupations in the food and beverage sector to women in the disadvantaged group, young unemployed, people who have probation and who have been treated for substance abuse. With the project, which will also provide psychosocial support activities, it is aimed to employ 40 people and to bring an educated and qualified workforce to the sector. With the project, it is also planned to support 11 employees in the sector with business development trainings in order to increase the service quality of the enterprises in the TR410 Region. In the Future is in the Kitchen project, studies will also be carried out to contribute to local development. With the project, business development trainings will be given to women's cooperatives operating in Bursa. It is aimed that 41 women cooperative members will benefit from these trainings.
