Underlining that allergy sufferers should not scratch or rub their eyes, Op. Dr. Hanife Öztürk Kahraman said, “As our hands are generally the dirtiest part of our body, they cause infection. Again, scratching makes allergy symptoms worse. In such cases, the most effective way is to apply a cold compress to the eye. In this way, we prevent the progression of the infection by reducing both itching and pressure in our eyes.

DROPS MUST BE TAKEN UNDER DOCTOR'S CONTROL

Stating that allergy treatment is usually done with drops, Kahraman pointed out that patients who will use drops should definitely take these drops under the control of a doctor.

Stating that cortisone-containing drops are used in advanced infections, Op. Dr. Hanife Öztürk Kahraman also warned that the drops may show side effects in users.

Stating that the tests carried out by the families to determine whether their child has eye allergy or not, did not give a definite result, Kahraman continued as follows: “Tests do not usually give us the right results. That's why we recommend that families observe their children themselves instead of having them tested. If there is an allergy, it will already show itself”
