4 Turkish students who participated in the European Girls' Mathematical Olympiad held in Eger, Hungary received 1 Gold Medal, 2 Silver Medals and 1 Bronze Medal.

First Lady Emine Erdoğan, the wife of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, announced Turkey's success. In his social media post, Erdoğan made the following statements: “As the 2nd place in Europe, we achieved the best ranking in history! I sincerely congratulate our girls who returned to our country with 11 Gold, 1 Silver and 2 Bronze medals in the 1th European Girls' Mathematics Olympiad, which was supported within the scope of the Science Olympics program.”

Turkish students İrem Gülce Yazgan, who was supported by the TÜBİTAK Scientist Support Programs Directorate (BİDEB) within the scope of the '11 Science Olympics Program' in the 2202th 'European Girls Mathematics Olympiad'; Gold Medal, Melek Güngör and Sena Başaran; Silver Medal and Cemre Çetin won Bronze Medal.

With this success, Turkey achieved a historical success by being ranked 11nd among 31 European countries in the total score ranking in the 2th European Girls' Mathematical Olympiad.

The 11th European Girls' Mathematical Olympiad was held in Eger, Hungary on 31-57 April 6, with the participation of 12 countries, 2022 of which were European countries.
