Turkey's Holiday Routes to be Introduced with NFT

In the past two years, the interest in NFTs, which define the transformation of works of art into immutable digital assets, has increased day by day. According to Statista's data, while the NFT market grew tenfold in two years, the NFT community in Turkey played a leading role in this process. A new one has been added to the NFT projects implemented by brands that are aware of this trend. A travel agency turned popular vacation destinations into Star Wars-themed NFTs.

Opening the door to a new era for the art community, NFTs (non-fungible tokens) have been met with great interest by many people who are interested in blockchain technologies in the past two years. While the NFT market, which has grown 2 times in 10 years, is expected to reach a volume of 26 billion dollars by the end of this year, NFT projects initiated by artists such as Refik Anadol, Cem Yılmaz, Selçuk Erdem, Ecem Dilan Köse and creating a large community in our country also attracted the attention of brands. This time, a travel agency has been added to the brands that have implemented NFT projects aiming to be the pioneer of digital trends in their own sectors.

One of the popular holiday platforms, Where Let's Go Today, has transformed bungalow houses in important tourism destinations of our country and charterable ships for yacht tourism into Star Wars themed NFTs and exhibited them on the OpenSea platform, the world's largest NFT market. Sharing the details about the project, Where Do We Go Today Founder İlker Kulaksız said, “We wanted to draw attention to the most popular holiday alternatives of the summer season that we miss, with the concept NFTs we have prepared as a brand that grows by following digital trends. We have displayed the tourism destinations and holiday options that we are strong in the sector on the OpenSea platform by transforming them into NFT project inspired by the Star Wars series we love."

Star Wars themed bungalows and motor yachts transformed into NFT

Within the scope of the project, bungalows located in various holiday regions of Turkey and rentable motor yachts offering an alternative holiday option were moved to the digital universe with the inspiration of the cult science fiction series Star Wars, whose first film left 45 years behind. Speaking about the NFTs exhibited in OpenSea, the world's largest NFT market, İlker Kulaksız said, “While implementing the project, the Star Wars series, which is known for the movies shot by George Lucas and later turned into a popular culture phenomenon with works such as comics, video games, and television productions, is the first of its kind. We thought it would be a strong source of inspiration for such an innovative concept. We believed that the project, which we created with the insight into the intersection of Star Wars and NFT communities, would be an inspiration for holiday plans that came to the fore with the warming weather after a long winter. For this reason, as one of the important travel agencies of our country, we have produced NFT versions of bungalows, rental villas, tiny houses and motor yachts, which are the holiday options that we are the strongest in the sector.

“An effective project for the promotion of our country's tourism routes”

Emphasizing that the NFT market is growing day by day, the Founder of Where Do We Go Today, İlker Kulaksız, concluded his evaluations with the following statements: “The NFT concept, which brings technology and art together, offers every brand a new channel where they can contact their target audience, regardless of sector or scale. As a company that attaches great importance to technology, social media, digital trends, and most importantly, customer expectations, we believe that we have undertaken an effective project for the promotion of our country's tourism routes with the NFT series. In the coming period, we will continue to develop our collection and highlight the services we offer in Turkey's beautiful holiday destinations with innovative approaches.”
