At a press conference today, Zhou Rongfeng, Deputy Director General of Highway of the Ministry of Transport of China, noted that a road network has been established in China, whose skeleton is highway, ordinary highways with veins and rural highway as the basis.
Pointing out that road transport is the most widely used mode of transport, serving the largest population, covering the widest dimension, Zhou noted that it is of great importance to strengthen the maintenance and management works of the road.
Zhou shared the information that a total of 1 trillion 290 billion yuan budget has been allocated for the maintenance of the highway in recent years, and today the high-quality rate of highways across the country has reached 91,5 percent, and this rate has reached 84 percent in ordinary national and provincial highways.
