The fast-breaking dinner given by Izmir Metropolitan Municipality at Konak Ataturk Square brought together 3 Izmir residents. During the month of Ramadan, the Metropolitan Municipality will distribute iftar meals for a total of 600 thousand people in various parts of the city. Izmir residents will also be able to support iftar tables through the People's Grocery website.

The fast-breaking dinner organized by Izmir Metropolitan Municipality at Atatürk Square in Konak on the first day of Ramadan brought together 3 citizens. Whirling dervish show was performed before and after the meal and the Quran was read.

Addressing the people of Izmir before the first fast-breaking dinner, Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Secretary General Ertuğrul Tugay said, “I wish you all a blessed month of Ramadan. May our Ramadan be blessed. Last year, unfortunately, we could not meet at the iftar tables due to the severe pandemic conditions. This year, we are together again as the conditions improve a little. Solidarity and sharing exist in the ancient culture of these lands. In these difficult days, we will share together and give them shoulder to shoulder. In the holy month of Ramadan, the best examples of solidarity will be signed again this year.” Citizens expressed their satisfaction with the large iftar tables set up after the pandemic.

Izmir residents can support iftar solidarity

During Ramadan, Izmir Metropolitan Municipality will distribute iftar meals for a total of 600 thousand people. Izmir residents will also be able to participate in iftar solidarity through the People's Grocery. Citizens who want to support Ramadan tables by increasing the fertility of iftar will be able to purchase iftar dinner for 35 liras on the People's Grocery website. The purchased packages will be delivered to those in need by the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality. Iftar meal packages include soup, main course, side dish, dessert, bread and ayran.

Iftar meal in Ramadan in every corner of the city

Adile Naşit Park and Göksu Park in Buca, Çaldıran Park and Tulip Park in Konak, Peker Park and Serintepe Park in Karabağlar, whose renovation processes have been completed in line with the determinations of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Emergency Solution Teams, BayraklıIt will distribute fast-breaking meals for one day at 7 points in total, including Gümüşpala and the Closed Market Place, and organize Ramadan entertainment for children.

A total of 25 boxes of fast-breaking meals will be distributed, including boarding for five days in Aliağa, Menderes and Menemen, boarding for two days in Bergama, Kınık, Torbalı and Foça, and five floating for five days in Seferihisar.

It will also be distributed at metro stations.

Metropolitan Municipality, which does not forget the university students, will distribute fast-breaking meals for a total of 3 thousand people, 90 thousand people in total, at Dokuz Eylül University, Buca Tarık Akan Youth Center Front, Ege University, University Metro Exit, Katip Çelebi University, İzmir Institute of Technology. For the citizens who cannot make it to their homes during the fast-breaking meal, a total of 500 thousand food packages, one thousand 30 per day, will be given at Üçyol Metro, Halkapınar Metro and Konak Metro stations.
