First Books Arrived for 'A Library for Every Headman'

How can the campaign be supported?

The people of Izmir can support the campaign with second-hand books. However, encyclopedias are not accepted within the scope of the campaign. The donors are requested to put their unworn, undamaged and readable books in a box on which they will write “A Library for Every Neighborhood” and leave them at the following points:

Training for mukhtars from the Directorate of Libraries

The books collected within the scope of the campaign will be sorted and cleaned by the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Libraries Directorate and sent to the headman's libraries built by İZBETON. The Libraries Directorate will provide training to mukhtars on the basics of book classification, arrangement, lending and library management.

50 neighborhoods in the first phase

İZBETON informed the mukhtars of İzmir about the project within the scope of the “A Library for Every Neighborhood” project. Headmen who wanted to benefit from the project conveyed their library requests to İZBETON. İZBETON teams examined the mukhtars, taking into account criteria such as the suitability of the area where the library will be built, the location of the headman's office in the neighborhood, and whether it can serve the entire neighborhood. in the first place Bayraklı, Bornova, Buca, Çiğli, Güzelbahçe, Gaziemir, Karabağlar, KarşıyakaA library will be established in mukhtars in , Kemalpaşa, Konak and Narlıdere.
