Industry and Technology Minister Mustafa Varank gave the good news to Yozgat that a science center will be established within the framework of cooperation between TÜBİTAK and Yozgat Municipality. Varank announced that the science center, which will be established with an investment of approximately 18 million lira, will consist of two different campuses, Çekerek and Yozgat.

Minister Varank inaugurated 28 projects with a total investment of 13 million TL, implemented by the Central Anatolian Development Agency (ORAN) and Konya Plain Project (KOP) Regional Development Administration in Yozgat. In his speech here, Varank noted that they made investments to increase Yozgat's possibilities and capabilities, and said, "While there was only one OIZ in our province in 2002, we increased this number to 35 with an investment of 4 million liras. We implemented Sorgun İŞGEM and Bozok University Incubation Center projects. We established the Experimental Technology Workshop in our city in order to find young people who are interested in science and technology and to reveal their capacities.” he said.

GOODWILL OF THE SCIENCE CENTER

Stating that they were not satisfied with all of these, Varank said, “Science and youth are two important focus areas of the National Technology Move. We continue our breakthroughs to increase the competencies of our youth in science and technology. In this direction, I would like to share a good news for Yozgat with you from this podium. We have decided to establish a science center in Yozgat within the framework of the cooperation of TÜBİTAK with our Yozgat Municipality. Today, we will start the establishment of the center, where we will bring our young people together with science and technology, by signing the project.” said.

18 MILLION LIRAL INVESTMENT

Explaining that the science center, which will be established with an investment of approximately 18 million lira, will consist of two different campuses, Çekerek and Yozgat, Varank said, “We will open the Çekerek campus this summer and the Yozgat Central campus next year. In these centers, we will train future scientists, engineers and technology entrepreneurs who will contribute to the National Technology Move.” used the phrases.

After the speeches, accompanied by Minister Varank, TÜBİTAK President Prof. Dr. Hasan Mandal and Yozgat Mayor Celal Köse signed the protocol on establishing a science center in the city.
