Malatya Ring Road 1st Section was put into service on Saturday, April 2, with the video conference participation of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Adil Karaismailoğlu, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, and Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, General Manager of Highways, as well as deputies, representatives of public institutions and organizations, and contractor company officials attended the ceremony.

Stating that he is excited and happy to bring Malatya, the apple of the eye of the Republic, the heirloom of the Seljuks and the Ottoman Empire, to a new monument worthy of its beauty, President Erdoğan said: It is the economic and social center of the region.” he used his words.

The President stated that they continue their investments uninterruptedly in order to provide an infrastructure suitable for their goals in Malatya, which continues to develop in many areas from agriculture to trade, from industry to tourism, and that the ring road that has been opened is one of these investments.

Pointing out that as Malatya grows and develops, the number of vehicles and traffic density increase, the President said that the traffic on the route connected to the center is relieved and the quality of life of the city is improved, and continued his words as follows:

“There are 53,5 intersection bridges, 12 underpasses, 5 railway bridges and 3 hydraulic bridges on our ring road, which has a length of 4 kilometers together with the connection road. The first part of this road, which starts from the Gölbaşı junction and extends to the Pütürge junction, consists of a 26-kilometer section. In this way, by relieving the traffic in the city center, we will save 89 million liras per year from time, 97 million liras from fuel, and we will reduce carbon emissions by more than 19 thousand tons. The part of the project with a total investment cost of 1 billion 128 million liras, which we will open, was completed with an expenditure of approximately 400 million liras.”

President Erdoğan congratulated those who contributed, sharing his belief that Malatya will make the best use of this opportunity in transportation and will increase the added value we provide to our country in every field.

Speaking at the ceremony, Minister Karaismailoğlu stated that they brought the 1915 Çanakkale Bridge, the longest middle span suspension bridge in the world, and the 101-kilometer Malkara Çanakkale Highway to our nation and the world, and today, with the Malatya Ring Road, a new giant to improve the quality of life of the people of Malatya. stated that they have put the work into service.

Karaismailoğlu said, “Each of our projects, which are planned, built and put into service with the mind of the state, are very valuable steps that enable our country to reach its strategic goals. We will continue to do what is best for our country and our nation.” he said.

Noting that Malatya is always an important center in terms of economy and culture, Minister Karaismailoğlu said that they are happy to open the 16-kilometer 26st Section of the Malatya Ring Road project, which will reduce the traffic density on the current road passing through Malatya city center, which is located at the crossing point of 1 provinces with its location that brings together transportation networks. He continued by stating:

“Within the scope of Section 1, which we opened today, we have completed a total of 17,5 kilometers of road section, including the 9 kilometers long Darende-Gölbaşı junction-Sivas junction and the 26 kilometers long Akçadağ connection road. We are rapidly continuing the construction work in the remaining sections. Our ring road will take its place in history as a new giant work that we have implemented to improve the quality of life of our Malatya citizens. Malatya is the name of the epic city that made Anatolia the homeland. We will continue to strengthen the transportation and communication infrastructure of Malatya and prepare it for the future.”

After the speeches, Minister Adil Karaismailoğlu and General Manager Abdulkadir Uraloğlu cut the opening ribbon of the road together with the protocol members and company authorities.
