IMPORT DISCHARGES INCREASED by 5,1%

Underlining that the transit freight shipments amounted to 7,5 million 6 thousand tons with an increase of 671 percent, it was stated that the amount of cargo carried in cabotage increased by 5 percent with 370 million 12,4 thousand tons.

MOST CARGO HANDLING WAS DONE AT KOCAELİ PORT MANAGEMENT

In the statement, which stated that a total of 7 million 184 thousand tons of cargo was handled at the port facilities operating within the administrative borders of Kocaeli Port Authority, Kocaeli Port Authority; It was emphasized that Aliağa and İskenderun Port Authorities are following. The highest amount of cargo handling in imports took place with 3 million 747 thousand tons in shipments from Russia.

The amount of containers handled at our ports in March 2022 increased by 0,6 percent compared to the same month of the previous year and amounted to 1 million 68 thousand TEUs. It was underlined that this amounted to one million 4,6 thousand TEUs. In the statement, which stated that the amount of containers handled for foreign trade at ports decreased by 3 percent in March and reached 187 thousand 0,3 TEUs, “In March, container shipments for export purposes increased by 812 percent to 620 thousand 3,3 TEUs, while unloading of containers for import purposes increased by 417 percent. It decreased by 336 percent to 3,8 thousand 395 TEUs. The amount of transit containers handled increased by 283 percent to 6,2 thousand 185 TEUs. The highest amount of container handling took place within the administrative borders of Ambarlı Port Authority. A total of 505 TEU containers were handled at the port facilities operating within the administrative borders of Ambarlı Port Authority. Ambarlı; Kocaeli and Mersin Port Authorities followed suit. The highest amount of container handling took place in the shipments made with Egypt.
