In the New Type Submarine Project carried out within the scope of the Presidency of Defense Industry (SSB) project, HAVELSAN started the factory acceptance tests of the sixth of the command and control systems, which are considered the brains of submarines.
SSB, Naval Forces Command, General Directorate of Shipyards and HAVELSAN personnel are participating in the tests started on March 22 at the HAVELSAN Technology Campus Land-based Test Center.
Factory acceptance of the TCG Selman Reis Submarine, which has a test procedure of approximately 2500 pages, is planned to continue until April 14.
The command and control system developed for TCG Selman Reis, the sixth of the Reis class submarines, increased the listening capabilities and target detection range of the submarine with 7 different acoustic sensors, while improving its listening and adapting to underwater conditions.
The Port Acceptance Tests, which are expected to be carried out after the Factory Acceptance Tests, will be carried out at Gölcük Shipyard. After the installation of the devices and the activation of the radar and acoustic systems, the Sea Acceptance Tests will begin.
HAVELSAN delivered the command and control systems of the 5th submarine within the scope of the project last year. In addition, in 2021, the Submarine Information Distribution System (DBDS) of TCG Selman Reis, the sixth of 6 chief class submarines, was delivered and all DBDS deliveries of the project were completed. With the delivery of the command and control systems, the heart and brain of all Reis Class Submarines will be completed. Within the scope of the project, HAVELSAN carries out all system development and testing activities in the Land Based Test System in its own facilities.
