Beam Manufacturing Continues on Kuruçeşme Tram Line

On the tram line that will be extended by Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality to Kuruçeşme, the head beam production of the 290-meter-long 9-foot and 8-span overpass that will provide the transition continues. In addition to the header beams made of reinforced concrete, seismic isolators will be used to absorb the load of the tram and steel beams.

150 STEEL BEAMERS WILL BE INSTALLED

The entire load will be placed on seismic isolators made of steel and rubber material, not concrete beams. The seismic isolators will absorb the load of the Akçaray Tram, which has a weight of 40 tons when empty and 70 tons when fully loaded. The steel beams produced at the factory will be transported by trucks and brought to Kocaeli, where they will be mounted with a crane. 1400 steel beams, each 18 meters long, will be used in the tram overpass, where 150 tons of steel will be used.

2 NEW PEDESTRIAN OVERPASS CONSTRUCTED

Within the scope of the project, two new pedestrian overpasses built in front of the private hospital and Izmit High School at the entrance of Kuruçeşme were completed and put into service. The pedestrian overpass built in front of the private hospital is 59 meters long, and the pedestrian overpass built in front of the Izmit High School is 52 meters long.

130 BORED PILES PULLED

100 bored piles were driven for the legs of the 290-meter-long overpass to be connected to Kuruçeşme via the D-130. Along with the infrastructure works, the production of vehicle pocket pavement concrete continues.
