Filming of the sequel to director James Cameron's 2009 film "Avatar" began in 2017. Sam Worthington and Zoe Saldana once again gave life to the characters of Jake and Neytiri. New additions to the cast include Kate Winslet, Edie Falco, Brendan Cowell, and Michelle Yeoh. The new movie name of the series was announced as "Avatar: The Way of Water".
Returning to the set for the second movie are Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang, Giovanni Ribisi, Joel David Moore, CCH Pounder and Matt Gerald.
The movie will be released on December 16, 2022. “Avatar” grossed $2.8 billion worldwide.
New Avatar Movie Introduced at the Cinema Fair
The first images from Avatar 2 were released at Cinemacon, the cinema industry fair held in Las Vegas, USA. Along with the images presented by Cameron, the name of the highly anticipated sequel for 13 years has also been revealed: 'Avatar: The Way Of Water.'
The director told the crowd watching the footage that the limits of what cinema could do would be tested. Participants were given special 3D glasses before watching the presentation.
The appreciation of the audience at the fair kazanIt was stated that the moment images will be shown in movie theaters in the movie 'Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness', which will be screened in the USA on May 5. It will be published online next week.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, in the teaser, the main characters of the first movie, Jake (Sam Worthington) and Neytiri (Zoe Saldana), are seen with whale-like creatures in the Pandora universe.
