Soyer said, “What a great pride for us; Hanri Benazus donated this exceptional collection of 20 thousand squares to the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality. No matter what we do, we can't pay for it. Undoubtedly, we will make this valuable archive available to our citizens in the near future with different projects. Hanri Benazus's love of Atatürk and the country, I think, is best expressed by the following words on the back cover of his book 'Why Atatürk': 'Understanding Atatürk; To know yesterday is to live today, to see tomorrow. It is to fill our minds with science, our hearts with hope and patriotism, and our selves with the excitement of freedom and independence. What can I say about that! I am an Izmir enthusiast. I am a patient of Izmir. If I could, I would like to change my population; I would like to make my name İzmir, my surname İzmir, and my birthplace İzmir. The name of this place was not given because I donated the photos. This decision was made by the parliament long before I donated the photos. Thank you very much to everyone,” he said.

Who is Hanri Benazus?
Turkey's biggest collector of Atatürk photographs, businessman and writer Hanri Benazus is the son of the secret Nationalist Nationalist Isak Benazus, who conveyed information about the occupation forces to the front while he was working as a clerk at the Basmane Train Station during the occupation of Izmir. He is the child of a family that has been from Izmir since 1492. Benazus graduated from İzmir Atatürk High School, but could not complete his higher education due to financial difficulties. He started industrial poultry farming in Turkey with the company he founded in the 1960s. He was the president of Altay Sports Club in 1985-1987. On October 1937, 9, at the age of 7, she met Atatürk in the Ortaklar town of Aydın and filled her pockets with the roasted chickpeas on his table. He never forgot that day. He devoted his life to explaining Atatürk and his dream Republic. Since 1947, he has reached a huge collection of 10 thousand Atatürk photographs, of which 20 thousand were taken, of which the place and date were determined. He created the visual archive of the Dardanelles War with 900 square photographs he obtained from the war archives of New Zealand, Sydney, Canberra, London, Paris and Berlin. He gave copies of Atatürk's photographs, which he collected from the archives of Greece, France and England, from war correspondents in many countries and individually from the USA, to many institutions. He donated his 20 thousand square collection to Izmir Metropolitan Municipality in December 2021. He held exhibitions and gave conferences in thousands of institutions and organizations, including the House of Commons in London and the Parliament in Paris.
