150 new firefighters, who were appointed on the basis of merit and started their duty, have now started to receive 'Basic Firefighting' training after the 'Basic Occupational Health and Safety' training. Theoretical and practical training will continue until May.

Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Fire Brigade Department is increasing the number of personnel day by day in order to respond more quickly and effectively to fire incidents that may occur in the Capital.

150 new firefighters, who were appointed on the basis of merit, have now started to receive 'Basic Firefighting' training after the 'Basic Occupational Health and Safety' training.

NEW FIRE FIGHTERS SHEAR IN THEORETICAL AND APPLIED EDUCATION

Until May, to the new firefighters preparing for the field in the Ankara Fire Department central campus;

  • Vehicle and on-board equipment presentation,
  • Motopomp, submersible pump, flood and flood response,
  • Wearing personal protective equipment and breathing fresh air,
  • Use of thermal camera and gas measuring devices,
  • Fire intervention, fire extinguishing techniques, fire extinguishing methods, fire extinguishing agents,
  • referral organization, teamwork, communication,
  • Hazards at the fire place,
  • Detection of fire location, victim rescue and rescue skills in closed, dark and narrow areas and smoky environments in the labyrinth center,
  • Rescue equipment and its use,
  • Theoretical and practical training will be given on teamwork, fire response organization, fire fighting vehicles and equipment.

LIFE SAVING TRAININGS

The firefighters, who received their first aid training from expert trainers, expressed their excitement about starting the job with the following words:

Angel Hira Nurabaka: “We started to receive basic training in firefighting. Today, we receive training on many subjects such as occupational health and safety, tripods, and vehicle ladders. Touching a life and helping people is very important to me and it is a profession that I will love to do, that's why I chose this profession.”

Enes Diri: “I applied for the merit-based exams opened by Ankara Metropolitan Municipality and succeeded. Now I have started my job and we are getting more detailed trainings.”

Emine Head: “I used to work in the healthcare industry. I believed that saving lives was my life philosophy. Then I chose the firefighting profession. I was successful by taking the exams of Ankara Fire Department. Here, together with our friends, we receive useful trainings in order to be better equipped.”

Selim Sevindi: “We are doing a sacred profession. We receive both theoretical and practical training, it adds a lot to us. We are taking firm steps forward in our profession.”
