Soyer: He set an example for Turkey

Mayor of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Tunç Soyeremphasized that in the light of the principles of social municipality, they provide support to all segments of the society in all areas. Pointing out that the "Public Vehicles" application, which provides 50 percent discounted transportation, is a first in Turkey, Mayor Soyer said, “This service has contributed significantly to the budgets of our fellow citizens and has set an example for Turkey. Other cities have also started to implement this model.”

7 TL support per boarding

Stating that the people suffer the most from the bad course of the economy, President Soyer concluded his words as follows: “The high price increases from needle to thread are also reflected in our services, even if we don't want them to. Only in the last year, the total rate of hikes in diesel fuel has reached 230 percent. Despite this, we did not raise a penny in public transportation services in 2021. But this load has sadly passed the portable point. We had to make two hikes since the beginning of the year in order to maintain public transportation services. Our hike rates were 36 percent and 38 percent. Despite these increases, we still provide an average of 7 TL support per boarding as the Metropolitan Municipality.”
