In the operation carried out at the Gürbulak Customs Gate by the Ministry of Commerce Customs Enforcement teams, 345 kilograms of liquid methamphetamine was seized in the fuel tank of a passenger bus from Iran.

In the risk analysis carried out by the personnel of Gürbulak Customs Enforcement Smuggling and Intelligence Directorate, a passenger bus arriving at the customs gate from Iran was considered risky.

Suspicious concentration was found in the right fuel tank of the vehicle, which was directed to the X-ray scan. The vehicle, which was taken to the search hangar for detailed examination, was searched in the presence of a narcotic detector dog. In the search made, the detector dog's reaction to the suspicious area detected in the x-ray scan was opened by removing the fuel tank of the vehicle from where it was located.

The sample taken from the high-density liquid in the said tank was analyzed with a drug and chemical test device. As a result of the analysis, it was determined that the suspect substance was a liquid methamphetamine type drug.

Customs Enforcement teams seized 345 kilograms of drugs that were intended to be smuggled into Turkey using a method that is very difficult to detect.

While the vehicle used in the transport of drugs was seized, the driver of the foreign national vehicle was detained. The investigation carried out by the Doğubayazıt Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the incident continues.
