Trans-Caspian International Transport Route Members Gathered in Kazakhstan

Members of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR) Union, called the 'New Silk Road' / 'Middle Corridor', reaching Europe through China, Kazakhstan, the Caspian Sea water area, Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey, will be held on 29-30 March 2022. They met in Almaty, Kazakhstan.

The delegation from Turkey, chaired by TCDD Taşımacılık AŞ Deputy General Manager Çetin Altun, representatives of the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure and private transportation company representatives, as well as representatives of other member countries' railway administration and transportation companies participated in the meeting.

Within the scope of the meeting, the union's forecasts and targets for 2022 freight transportation and the development strategy until 2030 were discussed.

In addition, while discussing what can be done to use the route more actively and efficiently in the changing world trade, it was underlined that the 'Middle Corridor' has an important role in the development of all member countries of the union.

At the meeting, it was pointed out that the Middle Corridor transports are increasing day by day, in order to use this corridor more effectively and efficiently, together with the railway administrations and companies of the member countries, solutions were taken to solve the problems and facilitate the transport, from China to Europe, from Russia to South Asia and Africa. It was stated that the TITR route, which facilitates transportation on all trade routes up to Turkey, offers new opportunities for all countries of the world and saves time and cost.
